There is a chance that your pump itself is going bad. Just like a starter that is on its way out. if you tap on it sometimes the brushes will make contact enough for it to go ahead and start, a fuel pump motor has brushes and an armature. Sometimes they will not make contact and work, then other times they can run fine for a bit.

92 Mazda b2600i failed pressure test during emissions testing. Where would I start to fix this? They said there is a problem between the gas tank and charcoal box.

clean out charcoal box filter and try to blow line out from charcoal box to fuel tank with low air pressure from a air compressor

sounds like an electrical problem .pump isnt coming on .turn on key listen for fuel pump to come on for 10 seconds then shut off on its own. If you dont hear the pump then its probley fuel relay . next check wires are plugged into fuel pump. lots of cleaning ?? is the fuel rail screen plugged ???? disconnect before rail if the pump comes on next. turn on key check for fuel pumping out line .

Cant hold pressure in fuel rail 1993 jeep gand charokee seems to want to start but shuts right down fuel is coming out of line at good rate i replaced fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator no change yet...

i'm assuming you disconnected the fuel line and placed the line in a container to catch the fuel when observing the flow.

it might sound strange but i think there might be a leak in the tank coming from the fuel pump assembly. it's possible a tube or hose is broken on the assembly and the pump is just pumping the gas back into the tank.

there's flow because there is no pressure building up with the line disconnectedand the gas flows. when connected, pressure builds and blows out the break in the tube or hose.

I keep loosing power to the tanks and cant figure out why the inertia switch isnt triped , i have repaced the fuel pump relay and the eec relay and the pumps in the tanks, they seem to kick in when i first...

you should check the pressure in the fuel lines going to your carb. or fuel injector and if pressure is good that would mean the relays are still doing there job
