Is there a double din installation kit for a ford 1999 escort.

Looks like your trying to install a single din size radio in a double din opening. You will need a radio adapter kit that will allow you to complete your installation correctly. Best Buys or Crutchfield would be your best bet for finding the correct kit for your car. They also carry the special connectors that connect to your factory system so no cutting of wires in the factory harness will be nessesary. Hope this helps out.

A 1 DIN stereo is what came stock in your vehicle. A 2 din stereo is double the height of a 1 DIN stereo, but the same width.

i have a 2002 ford escape and i bought a double din radio and it did not fit and found out it is actually a din and 3/4 with out serious mods (cutting a bigger hole in dash) double din wont fit i bought a single din stereo and a din a 3/4 dash kit works fine

i will bet money it is the small wires going into the connecotr for the coil pack. you will find one corrded tot he point it will pull out. Fod sells a connector kit. Can/t fix existing connector.

The altenator and battery can be tested for free on most part stores. You can buy a rebuild kit cheaper than a new or rebuilt alteanator.
