Hello, If you look on the inside panel of the tailgate you'll see the lamp lens held in by 2 screws. Remove the 2 screws and then remove the lamp lens. Remove the bulb from the lens and install new bulb. Be sure to clean new bulb with clean cloth or paper towel to be sure there isn't any oil from your skin on the bulb. Replace lens assembly into tailgate. Reinstall 2 screws. Hope this helps. Good luck and God bless.

How do i replace the license plate bulbs on a 2002 chev trailblazer

There will be one or two screws or push pins securing the lense. Remove the screw or pin and pull the lense out. Twist the bulb socket and pull out the bulb. If you haven't already purchased the replacement bulbs, it will use a 194 bulb.

Replacing license plate lights on Chevy Trailblazer

I just had the same problem. I took the cover off, saw the white bulb base, twisted it to take it out, but it popped back inside the door. I got it out, but it wouldn't pull through, so I twisted it back in place and went to Autozone to get new bulb. Once I saw the new bulb, it was obvious, just the bulb itself pulls out. There's so little room to work, I couldn't get it with just my fingers - - maybe rubber gloves would have worked, but I used pliers, lightly, wiggled it a little and it popped right out. I had a similar issue once with the taillight bulb and had to break the bulb and then grip the remaining filament wires with pliers to get it out, so that was my backup plan, just in case.

Hope this helps others.

License plate light replacement

The license plate lights are in the ledge above the license plate. 2 screws keep the lens cover in place. Remove the screws, and the cover comes off. Just pull the lamp out (wedge base) and replace.
