I presume you mean the electronic parking brake does not meet the minimum effort for mot test, first check the rear calipers and pads, the caliper sliders seize and/or the pads seize in the caliper frame, check the discs also for bad corrosion, is the park brake warning showing on the dash? if so check the wiring above the rear subframe its prone to chaffing and grounding out, the park brake motors are also troublesome, sounds like a pad/ caliper problem more than likely seized sliders easy job to free off, hope this is helpfull to you.

sounds like the battery is flat or gone bad get it tested/ charged. try using jump leads to confirm the problem if the battery is ok try doing a battery reset ie disconnect battery for a about 10 minutes reconnect and retry reset park brake by working it on/off a few times with ign. on and foot on brake

more noticeable it the idle speed is more than 750 rpms
if you don't want it to move , select neutral or park or gently apply the brake

its a factory scam for u to take it to them how ever turn the key switch on off five times in then push the throthle five more of course with the ingition on it should do the trick if not take it to some one that has a scaner and clear the codes its like fithty bukes well at least for me to baroow in charge lol

2004 x-type jaguar stuck in park after tail light problem . Simple brake light replacement turned into a nightmare. Scared to have the car towed.Can,t afford to have a jaguar tech come out, We're screwed....

Check the brake light fuse. If you blew a fuse for a brake light, you won't have power to the shift interlock which allows you to move the shifter.
