Regarding the heating issue, sounds like your thermostat is stuck open so the coolant isn't heating up. (May need replacement) Does your engine temp guage show it running colder than normal?

could be the spring release in the lever on the trunk itself. If you can hear the acuator locking/unlocking(that is all it's ment to do) then the spring release is the problem. you need to unbolt the latch from inside the trunk and once the trunk is open you can trace from there. I had the same problem due to a minor fender bender and I just fixed mine last week.

Generally there are two types of wires , power , and sound. The power wires will usually be black , red , and yellow or orange. Might also have a blue one. Black is ground , Red is constant power , yellow or orange is accessory power ( only energized when key turned on) .
If you have a blue wire , it sends out power when stereo is on , to power an electric antenna or turn on an external amp. All other wires will be in colored pairs. For example Green and Green with a black stripe , Grey , and Grey with a black stripe , purple and purple with a black stripe.......These are all speaker wires , the solid color one is the + and the one with the stripe is the - , EG: Grey might be right front + , and Grey with black stripe would be right front -

SOURCE: acura rsx trunk latch stuck & won't open
I"m having trouble with locking and unlocking my hatch using my remote. I have flipped the white switch in the trunk and it acts as a child safety lock if flipped one direction. However I am not able to open the trunk this way. It acts as a permanent lock. So I figure the switch must be flipped the other direction and need to replace my actuator. Is this hard to do. It looks to me like it two switches holding a bracket to hold the actuator itself after plugging in the actuator from both sides. Is it really this simple?? Is there more to it???
