1987 Honda CRX running problem

Hi I bought a 1987 Honda crx with a D16A6 engine with 200km on car. I have had the car for about 1 year and no prier history of the car befor that. I just started working on it not know what the deal was so
When first attempting to start the car it would not respond, so I installed a new battery and tried again. It took some time but it finally started to run really rough at about no more than 300 rpms but would eventually die.i would try to give it lost of gas but really has no effect and would die. In order for the car to keep on running I would have to keep pumping the gas pedals a little, but even then car does not exceed 300 rpms and struggling to stay alive. it does seem to make a popping sound from exhaust once in a while. so my question is what is making the car run at such low rpms and what do I need to do inorder to bring the engine back up to operating range?
Thanks

What is the firing order for a 1991 crx si

All Honda 4 cylinder engines that I have worked on have a firing order of 1342. That is the firing order on your CRX. #1 is the cylinder closest to the timing belt.

I blew my head gasket and i need to no how much

My main concern is that in 1990 Honda offered 2 engines...the D15B1 or the D16A6. I am going to assume that the engine in question is a D16A6, and the torque specs is; 47 ft/lbs for cylinder head bolts. When installing the bolts, dip them in CLEAN motor oil before inserting them into the block, and then tighten them as follows; there are 5 bolts in the front of the head, and 5 bolts in the rear. For the sake of explaination the front bolts are numbered from left to right...1,2,3,4,5 and the rear bolts are numbered from left to right...6,7,8,9,10. The correct tightening sequence for this arrangement would be; 3,8,2,9,4,7,5,6,1,10. I would recommend tightening the bolts to ~26 ft/lbs the first round, and then to 47 ft/lbs for the final round. Hope that this helps.

1990 crx base model honda civic want start

I would suggest an ignition module. If it is a rough idle at startup I would check the throttle position sensor. You can check that by starting the car and unplugging the TPS. If the car runs differently then chances are it is working fine.

1990 honda crx si transmission trouble

this is not the problem of fluid, this is a major problem of transmission. The transmission must be detached from the engine, which you cant do by yourself. the transmission can be repaired but i dont know mechanics in your do it. otherwise you have to replace the transmission.
