Runs great going down the road but when you stop it acts like its going to quit on you idles rought?

You changed the spark plugs twice since 2006?

Every three years-- I do mine

Ignition Coils won't last 8 years,not all of them

You have to look at scan tool data & road test

Can not use a car for years & never work on it

Your dealing with time in years & heat cycles

Nothing at all to do with mileage

Usually 100,000 miles you change oxygen sensors

Yours are 9 years old,so they go based on time & again
scope them, for switching times & look at the data

Don't change your oil 3 times a year,you have engine wear

Could be any number of things causing your cars issues

check for loose/ missing vacuum lines on the engine . Easy enough when replacing an engine.

What is RPM,do you have gauge should be 750 to 800.at the idle.do you change air filter.Could be crankshaft sensor.

I'd pull the AIS motor ( automatic idle speed ) of side of throttle body and give it and the port it comes out of a good spray of throttle body cleaner, especially the Pintle ( pointed part) and re-install it and try it. If it cures it great, and if it starts to act up again a while down the road, replace it. Also referred to as IAC sometimes.( automatic idle control)

Hi, i have a 1999 jeep grand cherokee, 4.0 litre, had the same problem, quits running out of the blue, driving down the road, or sitting idling. starts right back up or takes some cranking to get it running. found out that the crankshaft position sensor was going bad, cost 40$ for the part, but had to have mechinac replace it due to it's location, hard to get at. jeep runs great now.

as u said early, it could be the fuel fllter and the hose. they both need servicing

This is a common complaint on these cars. I own a 96 myself.
Assuming that you engine is fine and runs smoothly under normal operation, and just is rough "feeling" at idle while stopped; then I would suggest changing the motor mounts...the mounts may not be broken, but the rubber isolators get worn and soft, and transffer normal engine vibration into the chasis of the vehicle. Mine was doing the same after changing the mounts good as new again.
Please note...don't use cheap mounts, by the better grade/quality mounts.

We had a similar problem and it was the connector that connects the ignition module (bottom of coil packs to the wiring harness. The technician spread the socket connectors and it solved the issue.

time chain or cat converter to eliminate cat let it idle half hour till really hot only at nite look under after a half at the cat converter if it is red glowing thats it .
