SOURCE: 2003 hyundai elantra wont start

hi there i would probably be giving it a compression check to start with , if it has over heated it may have blown a head gasket and now has no compression.

SOURCE: Car reving up and down on its own 3 to 4 times, then sputtering and dying?

The previous solution to check the idle air contol is in the correct area but needs some clarification.
The idle control is accomplished by two parts: Throttle position sensor ( $35 at Autozone) and idle contol valve approx $190. I replaced the throttle position sensor about a week ago and it runs perfect
to date but am a skeptic after almost two years of dealer incompetance. I researched all the sensors and failure symptoms on the internet and the throttle position sensor failure symptoms matched mine
exactly. See http://wiki.seloc.org/a/Throttle _Position_Sensor

SOURCE: Do I change water pump when having timing belt changed

I would go to auto zone and get a diagram and the timing belt and do it yourself and the water pump (no it does not have to be changed everytime the timing belt is changed but if the car has over 60,000miles then it is best to change them both) it is not that hard especially if the car is not out of time just make sure you disconnect the negative side of the battery

SOURCE: do you have to change the timing belt when changing water pump

Yes thats correct the if the water pump goes so goes the timing belt even if it looks good. The timing belt is only good for 50,000 miles if you have more this then you got your moneys worth.

SOURCE: Hyundai Sonata 2000 model 4

Hi there. I can solve this dangerous problem you are having. You would loose acceleration at lights and intersections, the engine will shake and revs can go crazy. The issue is the MAF (mass air flow) sensor. It was recalled in 2001 as a safety problem as people died driving this model of sonata. If you connect your comp up to a diagnostic machine you will find its the MAF the problem is a problem that is hard to ctah on a diagnostic machine though as it comes and goes. You will need to replace the MAF ASAP as you can die from this fault and hyundai will not care due to the age of this car.

I'm attempting to do a timing belt change on my 2004 Chevy Aveo. The problem is when I took off the old timing belt I forgot to loosen the tension using the water pump. When I tried to install the new...

Yes,there is a special wrench that fits the water pump. You have to loosen bolts on pump and put wrench on pump and turn pump to get belt on. Then tighten pump till marks line up on tensioner, then tighten the pump back down. Be sure to roll the engine around twice and recheck timing marks on crank and cams.

2002 Honda Civic ex wont start

After so many over heats.a car sometimes cant handle.
after constant over heating your cars rubber gaskets could have gone bad and turned brittle letting in oil into spark plug well #1
for your spark plug problem i would recommend changing your valve cover gaskets.
and for the over heating and not turning on.
i believe you blew a head gasket.

1991 Honda accura leaking water

i personally own an 91 integra im a mechanics student and is not an easy job . . first u have to move take all the accesory belts off move the power steering pump witout disconnecting the hoses , remove the right side motor mount , remove valve cover , take off timing cover , top middle and bottom make sure u lable eveything , also use a jack and jack stands to hold car and support the engine . remove crankshaft pulley,. if u change water pump i suggest u change timing belt too while your there . . the hardest thing is to deal with the timing you have to line it up perfect so it can start and also how tight the timiing belt is so it wont slip and cause damages, i personally did its not so easy . let me know if you got anymore questions

01 civic timeing belt went, are the valves ok?

It is an interference engine and I always change the water pump when I replace timing belts because it's cheap insurance and you don't want to go there again if it goes out in a couple of months after you replace the timing belt.
