15 seems low. Ford gives a spec of 40-70 psi with the engine speed @ 2500 rpm engine hot. Most cars I see are around the 25 psi @ idle. If your idle is lower than it should be it will make your pressure lower. This should be a direct reading on a good mechnical engine oil pressure gauge.
OK I know my engine speed @ idle is 600rpm in gear and 650 to 700 in park. This is reading off a aftermarket guage and it reads 25 psi after coming to a stop and if I wait long enough it well drop to the line below 25 psi after that it's 0 I'm not sure if that line is 15 or 20psi don't say. I'll go get a good testing guage and check with that. Thanks for your help..
Gauge haha..

Ckeck the ground wire located near the sensor... this causes this problem
SOURCE: What should be the normal operating oil pressure
It depends if you have a high volume oil pump or a factory one but either way if your pressure is between 35 psi to 60 psi you have no problem this is at road speed your oil pressure at idle should at least 25 and 30 would be better
SOURCE: oil pressure gauge stays at top, about 80 psi, is this normal
80 is on the high side for those... possibly a sending unit issue

I'm having the same problem. Did you get yours fixed?

inner timing cover oil gallery gaskets are more than likely your problem...you can make your own for 10 dollars or give nissan 500 for a new cover as they dont supply the gaskets....check the oil pan for gasket material...thats a sure sign they blew out but they may be gone and still holding together so its not always accurate...
