Take off a alternator on a 2000 Lincoln navigater

1. Disconnect the Negative (-) battery terminal from battery;
2. Disconnect all leads from the back of the alternator, noting their location (take a picture with your phone);
3. Remove the alternator's upper front retaining bolt.;
4. Loosen the lower retaining bolt. When the serpentine belt slackens around the pulley, move it out of the way if necessary (trying not to lose track of belt threading);
5. While grasping the alternator, remove the lower front retaining bolt entirely, then pull alternator free.
