How do I fix the clock display on my 1999 Pontiac Sunfire?

When I turn on the car, the inside lights work and the radio works, but the clock display won't turn on. I'm not sure which radio it is, but it says "Delco Pontiac" above the clock display and has 7 different vertical tuners (I think) on the right with a CD player at the top. If this helps, it also says "theftlock" on the bottom.

It appears to be that the radio clock display has malfunctioned, and is due for a replacement radio, which could be an aftermarket or oem radio, maybe found at a junk yard.

Tools required for oem replacement radio, torx keys set.

Before working on the radio or other electronics, disconnect the battery cables with 8mm wrench.

Replacing the oem radio is much easier, if you obtain oem radio, compared to aftermarket radio, due to being direct fit.

The radio is same for 1995 to 1999 Pontiac Sunfire and the Chevy Cavalier, regardless of sub models, such as SE,GT, VL,VLX,Z24. etc.

Parts needed for the the aftermarket radio install :Stereo assembly, stereo wiring harness adapter, radio antenna adapter, and dash install kit.wiring diagram for the wire colors / functions, along with tools, such as torx key set, screwdrivers, wire crimper, wire stripper, double ended wiring connectors, hair dryer.

The oem stereo removal video is for the 2000 to 2005 Sunfire / Cavalier, but are the same or very similar procedures.

SOURCE: car radio clock

YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE MINIATURE BULB THAT LITES UP THE DISPLAY, YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE RADIO FROM THE CAR AND THEN REMOVE THE TOP SHEET METAL COVER ON THE RADIO, YOU WILL SEE THE BULB SOCKET PLUGGED INTO THE BACK OF THE DISPLAY.

You will need to pull the clock, the bulb is on the back, any parts store will carry it, it is a mini peanut bulb.

Just need to know how to change the time on the clock display

Turn ignition to "on" or auxiliary with radio off. Time will light up. Press and hold the "hr" button until the numbers move. Do the same with the "min" button. Good luck.

Display for radio/clock doesn't work for a 2002 pontiac sunfire how to fix this problem?

Replace the front if possible from junkyard. Or replace the radio itself from there. Best you can do is open it and check if the display is not misplace.

My 1999 Pontiac Sunfire GT 2.4L Automatic Gear Selector is broken

you car likely thinks its stuck in reverse, which it may be... even if you can roll it. you'll need to find a way to either get it into park or neutral, normally this can be done by the actual linkages under the shift console or from underneath the car.

Error on cd

Could be a number of things. Some of the older GM CD players don't work too well in very cold weather. Also, some of the older CD players won't play burned CD's. If it's not cold weather related, and you're using a regular production store-bought CD, then it is most likely an internal radio problem. Cheapest solution is to buy a cheap aftermarket player.

Radio in 2001 grand prix works but the light for the clock and radio stations does not display.

The problem is the light bulb behind the screen if you pull the radio out of the dash & pull the radio apart the bulb is right behind the screen with a little work you can get it out, and you can buy it at a pontiac/gm garage. Part # 16208443. Good Luck
