The ABS warning light is on. I had the codes checked but there weren't any. Brakes seem fine but now the cruise control will not work. Any suggestions? Thanks.

get the brakes serviced first.
neither of those work with bad brakes.
check fuses 1st.
then scan it, scan the ABS. see DTC codes,
if it says a sensor is dead. well it is..
each code has different meanings and further tests.
but we check that the brakes work.first.
imagine if you will, trying to fix cruise control with a dead engine.
see?
The warning light is telling the driver the system is disabled. The hydraulic brake system works independently from the ABS altho the ABS does use some hydraulic components. You would need to have the ABS checked for trouble codes to proceed.
I would say that the brake controller is not compatible with the abs system disconnect the brake controller. Reset the cpu to get the abs working with no light showing apply the brakes again and see if the fault reappears. IT could all be in how the controller is wired into the system
well the cruise light is blinking probably becuase its telling you its notworking due to the fact the abs/traction lights are on,youre saying you just got a brake job done, i would guess either they unplugged the abs sensor to gain acess to the brakes or the sensor for the abs got dirty when they disrupted the brakes by removeing them to do the brake job, first thing i would do is peek at each wheel and see if the abs sensors are plugged in, if they are the next thing i would do , is remove each of the front sensors and clean them with brake clean or something like that,,the sensors are little magnets and sometimes when working in that area rust and dust and stuff gets on them and interupts the signal and casues all the problems you have list,,,,hope that helps,,,or take it back to where you got the brakes done and tell them about it and they should look at it and maybe fix it for free ,,,
The ABS light is a warning that you have an issue with the ABS system. The red brake warning lamp is serious. It is telling you that there is an issue with the base brakes. Your car will be ok with an ABS light, but the red warning lamp could be really dangerous. You should have them checked ASAP. It could be from many causes. A park brake switch, low fluid, the causes are too numerous to list. Please for your safty have it checked. Good Luck
The brakes will feel fine until u need the ABS, when the light is on the ABS is disabled. You need to have the ABS system tested for trouble codes, if the light is on there will be a code or codes.
