SOURCE: 1995 Honda Passport timing alginment 3.2 ltr 6VD1 engine

The crankshaft should have the timing mark on the crank pulley (Notch in the outer edge of the pulley near the keyway) It should align with the timing mark on the oil pump. (With the keway turned to about the 3 O'clock position.)

Align the marks on the camshaft timing pulleys with the corresponding dots on the front plate.

If you are installing a new belt, it should have 2 solid white lines printed on it that you would align with the timing marks on the cams and a dotted white line to align with the timing mark on the crank.

It makes a difference which way you put the belt on. (Which edge faces the front of the engine.) Most, but not all brands of belts have arrows and the word "FRONT" on them to tell you which edge of the belt shoud face the front of the motor. If there is no mark to tell you which edge is front, the letters on the belt must be able to be read correctly as viewed from the front of the vehicle.

SOURCE: cant fix timing on 94 honda civic because bottom

Clamp a vice grip on to the flex plate or flywheel(from underneath thru access cover)as tight as you can, turn the bolt on the lower pulley until it (vise grip) makes contact with the block. Now place a breaker bar on the bolt and break it loose, you'll probably need an extension on the breaker bar,the bolt has loctite and will be froze solid.Good luck!

Can anyone tell me ho I need to position crank shaft and camshaft exactly to fit belt straight on 1985 Honda civic shuttle 1.5i gt engine

there is a dot on the sprocket gear for cam and crank shaft set them to top dead center. after installing belt use a long ruler to check alignment. the dots and center bolts should be in a straight line. after checking rotate engine by hand one full cycle to ensure it is free of obstruction. it is best to set timing mark to zero before starting replacement of belt. if belt is broke before starting you may need to rotate the cam and crank at the same time to keep the valves from hitting the cyclinder. check for u tube video, timing belt replacement for your car

How to put my 85 honda civic on TDC so i can remove the water pump

the crank has a mark for TDC. (white) and the cam gear should have UP marked on it. You want the UP mark UP at the 12 oclock position.(as you are looking at the top pulley) there will be marks at the 3 and 9 oclock positions and these marks line up the the flat portion of the head that the valve cover sits on. While its apart ......replace the timing belt, and replace the pulley, and replace the cam and crank shaft seals, adjust the valves.

1995 honda civic d15b7 cranks but wont start. new

Are you sure you have correct timing? its definetly a fule problem, if timing is good then turn your key to the on position and try to listin for the fule pump to prime. While the key is in on position go to fuel rail, there is a valve on fule rail called sharader valve. Get a small screw driver and press valve in to check if car has fule pressure. if pressure is present then it is incorrect timing or possible bad cam sensor.

Can get the correct timing

well time the cams. it should say up on each of the cam gear and when you have the two cam gears in the up position. there should be a dot facing each other on the cam. then on the crank shaft gear there is also a dot marking. Line that up to the arrow mark on the block located right close to the crank gear. And then have your distributor rotor placed on cylinder one. thats the one closes to the cam gears...
