I am working on a 2007 Dodge Caliber 2.0. The alternator was making very loud noises and it killed the battery. I replaced both but it's still not charging. What would be my next step?

I checked all of the cables and the connections and everything looks good. I don't know what to try next, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module), the PCM (Power train control module) or is there something I'm missing?

Testimonial: "I replaced the alternator and the battery, and checked everything out. The battery, all of the cables, connections everywhere and I removed the alternator a second time and had it bench tested and it checked out fine."

Why is this 2007 Dodge Caliber 2.0 still not charging after changing the Alternator and the battery? The alternator and the battery both check out fine!!!

there are fusible links that will melt, like a fuse, find all of them and replace the bad ones, its on the secondary wire to the positive side of the battery

The signal to the alternator is controlled by the ECM/PCM, so the best thing to do is check all connections to the alternator and battery to make certain that they are clean and tight and have the vehicle scanned for fault codes.
There is one larger red w/grey wire to the alternator, that should have power from the battery, if it does not, then the fusible link to that wire has blown. If there is power to that wire, then the problem may either be in the alternator itself or the PCM.
If that is the case, you will need to hook up a scanner to it, to see what the PCM is saying that the charging system voltage is.

Air pump 2008 dodge caliber

My dodge caliber 2007, makes a really loud noise what is it??? 3 mechanics 7 3 wrong diagnoses later, and Dodge Manufacture telling me it is not something that is a common problem, i found it.. first it was the bearing on the Ac Compressor (WRONG), then it was the idler pulley bearing (wrong), then it was the water pump bearing (wrong). It was the alternator bearing (YEP) 3 mechanics, 2 dodge corporate call, and finally self perseverance finally some one got it right... ME i ho

Wont start or turn over but makes a clicking sound at the shifter

when you hear a clicking sound it means your battery voltage is too low The battery posts and clamps need to be cleaned and put back together. Did you leave lights on or something to kill the battery? Or is the battery not charging? You may need a new battery and a new voltage regulator. Is the belt tight? Is the alternator producing a voltage or is it time to get it serviced or replaced? These are rhetorical questions of course.

Is it hard to replace alternator? I heard that you take right wheel off to get to it?

1. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable at battery. 2. Remove the right front wheel. 3. Remove the underbody air dam.

4. Remove the accessory drive splash shield.

5. Remove the accessory drive idler pulley.

6. Loosen the lower mounting bolt.

7. Loosen the A/C compressor and relocate, pull down and to outboard side of vehicle to make room to remove generator.

8. Unplug field circuit from generator.

9. Remove the B+ terminal nut and wire.

10. Remove the upper mounting bolt. 11. Remove the generator lower mounting bolt.

12. Relocate the battery terminal (1) to the other side of the A/C line (2) for removal of the generator.

13. Rotate generator pulley down.
