SOURCE: engine problems 1999 dodge neon sport 2.0 L 16 valve DOHC

I had the same problem. I replaced the temp sensor and used a 2 pair of wires to test the fans. The fans were worked. The problem was the wire connection to the control module.

Oil leak 2002 hyunai accent-replaced valve cover gasket, what else?

2002 hyundai accent , gas or Diesel NO VIN posted.
no engine told at all and is a pure engine quesiton.
no vin told or country. (so books on it can be read)
the misfire can be lots things.
why not scan the PCM first and see P03xx errors. or more.
the gen2 model came new with one of these, nobody can guess.
the engine is MISFIRING, sure power loss, sure.
the first question is do all 4 cylinders misfire or just 1 or 2
facts and test matter on all engine diagnosis, guessing fails. hard.
if that oil leak did not leak in to COP spark wells the leak is a SIDE SHOW to nowhere. oK, no COPS on a DIESEL.
misfire is engine bad, spark bad,and fueling bad. in that roder
if all fail, the cam belt slipped at 100k miles. on 1.6L ,no me looking them all up now. no engine told
  • Cam belt ignored for 20 years, no way !
  • VVT bad.
  • heat gasket blown.
  • valves burnt in head.
  • spark plugs or cops boots or all 8 parts
  • valves ping broke(head)
  • coolant leaks to combustion chambers for the bad act of using only water for AF antifreeze 50% correct.
  • these are not gessing those are legit failure mode, 20 or more possible inside the engine or attached.
  • injectrors bad or clogged.partly or leaking
  • fuel pressure 2 time normal and FPR stuck closed and bad.
  • or stuck one and too low fuel pressure. or fuel pump bad.
  • I can to more, but this list shows why we do tests and not guess. buy the tools or get the car fixed by shops with tools
engine compression way low x4. <150psi , cam belt slipped.
spark tested bad, any and all Hyundai engines are interference..
that means if cam is belt driven and ignored, it can bend valves
easy as pistons hit(crash-into) head valves.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Changing manuel transmission/differential oil

the last time I changed the oil in a manual tranny that is all I had to do, the level in mine was determined by putting an 1/8 bend in a piece of wire, add oil then check to see if you can touch the oil with the wire, when it does it is full enough.

Timing belt snapped

hi from uk the cambelt timing marks for accent 1.3/1.5 petrol are as follows= the cam cog has a hole drilling between the outer toothed and the central securing bolt this hole at TDC number 1 cyl is at top central and lines up with a V cut in the cyl head at rear of cog ? the crank cog at TDC number 1 cyl is a pop mark on both the cog and on thefront face of engine quite noticable ! these line up and are at approx 12 -30 pm when viewed fit new belt from crankcog in anticlockwise ie crank then cam then tensioner HOWEVER! if you are considering just replacing belt and tensioner ? be warned this engine is an interferance engine that is to say if belt fails whilst driving there may/will most probably be damage to the valves (bent) due to contact with pistons so would advise caution and suggest compression test all cyls after fitting new belt and tensioner and before rebuild completely once valves have bent they will not contact pistons again but you will have serious missfire/s and probably back fire up inlet manifold coupled with failing to start if engine is high milage ? consider removal of cyl head and check? de coke and replace damaged or best all valves then engine will have improved performance and more milesin future hope this helps

I have a 2006 hyundai accent it is idling high and it seems to me that the tranny is slipping when you first start the car and take off, the rmps hit about 4000 before it finally kicks, my check engine...

No one could tell me what was wrong with my 2006 hyundai . Why the check engine light kept being on. Autozone, Napa, Advance auto, their FREE diagnostic machine could not figure the problem. It kept reading p0012 and they didn't know what exactly that meant so... I had to give in and take it to the hyundai dealership and pay$99 for a real diagnostic test. That's when I was told it was my oil control valve and the problem got fixed, no more headache!
