Check the fuses in both fuse box,s ,under dash and in engine compartment , if all ok get the OBD codes read this should pinpoint the cause , the electric power steering system , in my opinion ,was a backward step in car technology ,so be preparred for a hefty bill if it need the motor replacing

The pedal itself is the sensor. It is all one assembly called the accelerator pedal position sensor. If you are getting a code for this or the throttle position sensor don't assume either are at fault. There are many problems with wiring and the throttle body assembly which contains the throttle position sensor so a thorough diagnosis is needed before any parts should be put on.

Depends if the engine is 3.0 or a 2.2?
3.0 purge is on the top, back side of the intake. Black, cylinder. Looks the same on a 2.2, but is located next to the air filter.

i am a saturn tech and ive never heard of this concern,the columns do go bad but they just set a ses light and cut out power,the column could be bad,it could also be the intermediate shaft u joint binding,,,i rec take to dealer, could be serious
