My personal suggestion would be to
go for these repair catalogs. I know this website www.reliable-store.com that i used to buy them from, and they sold online it was very good manual. Go ahead, I bet.

SOURCE: engine runs rough at idle and seems to miss

I don't think the computer, maybe the throttle position sensor, EGR valve, it could be a few different things but would put the computer at the end of the list. These will have to be checked for correct ohms and voltage to determine which isn't putting out the right ohms to work right.

Have a 1999 Ford E150 4.2 V6. Has rough idle close to but does not stall, & rough acceleration with lack of power. Code reader is giving me a P1138.

You may have a vacuum leak at the intake manifold or other vacuum source, follow the link.

I replaced head gaskets on 2004 dodge dakota. when started it ran rough and lacked acceleration. Code P0300 and o2 sensors showed. replaced all 4 O2 sensors, but still rough idle and code P0300

That's Random or multiple missfire code. Have you checked for proper fuel pressure? Improper fuel pressure will trigger this code if it's too low, thus causing a lean mixture in multiple cylinders.

Hi. I have a 99 camaro 3.8l and I'm having some

Sounds like a fuel problem,You did the coils, plug wires and sparkplugs, that should of taken care of the misfire,You may have a EGR that stay open and doesnt close properly and it doesnt set a code why the ECM compensate for the false air.Now this causes rough idle, and smooth cruise with no misfire until you get to stop or idle speed. The map sensor this can also fail when warm especially if the vacuum it is suppose to get is not met. And a failing MAP causes a lack of power. A TPS failing causes a stumble and lack of power but no misfire.cansmo_184.gif

Rough idle and lack of power

Since you have fuel injection for fuel delivery, something has to tell the system how long to have the fuel injectors open, and something has to tell the system when to activate each fuel injector ... unless you have throttle body injection. Do you know which type of fuel injection you have? I will need that answer above before telling you anything useful.

Rough running

Computers aren't ALWAYS correct. If a code wasn't cleared after the original problem, it will read the same codes off to the diagnostic. I would remove the wire connector to each injector while it's running. If one of them makes no difference THAT is your culprit. Let me know please!
