How do I fix the digital display on climate control module on my 1997 Park Ave?

Actually, I pulled the circuit board from the unit and re-soldered the bad connections. A couple of the resistors were actually loose. Now it works as it should.

If I recall, the digital display on the Buick control module is "back-lit" with a couple of bulbs. Without the back light, you can't see the display. Remove the module and see if you have any burnt out bulbs. Bulbs may be a bit hard to find at your local parts shoppe and you may have to go to a GM dealer with your old bulb(s) to get an exact match. Good Luck.

SOURCE: reset climate control on 92 park ave , just blinks

try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes, also make sure the system has a full charge, a low refridgerent charge will trigger this blinking light.

SOURCE: 1991 Buick Park Ave. climate control stopped

Check to make sure that you have enought freon to engage the compressor, then you will need a flow chart to take you through the rest of the steps necessary to diagnos this problem. The Electrical system manual for Buick is the only one that will have the proper information for you to walk through the steps to dead head it. There is a HVAC programer that is behind the floor heater duck work. It has a numbering system that goes from (2) rows of pins that go 1-16 for terminals. On terminal 5-7 with ignition in run position, you need bat. votage. Terminal 10 & 11 you need 4-5 volts. Neither 10 or 11 should be unplugged just yet since 10 feeds 11 pin. If there isn't any voltage at these pins, check for corrosion on the pins theirself, or for the pin that it may have slipped back out of the connector. Good luck.

SOURCE: Digital display on climate control is very dim on

It's pretty easy to fix.
1. Remove "wood" trim from below module.
2. Remove 2 screws from tabs at sides of module
3. Remove module (may neeed to pry a little, it's tight.) and connector plug.
4. Remove 2 screws and seperate halves of module
5. Unplug harness to from circuit board (pull the plug, not the wires)
6. Pull the 2 plastic tabs at back of box to remove circuit board, which will now slide out.
7. Inspect the board. On mine, 4 tan components with a single lead coming out each end had cold (gray in color) solder joints. I simply resoldered the joints, reassembled and it's perfect.
8 ***NOTE After reinstalling, start the car and run for a full minute before touching any buttons...this somehow sychronizes the module.

Enjoy!

SOURCE: the a/c will not work on my 91 park ave. the

Hi,
After all said and done regarding the problem with your car AC,it can be deduced that the problem is from the expansion valve in the system,it's bad and needs a replacement,
However,before replacing the exp valve,carry out this solution;

try disconnecting the negative battery cable, then hook it back up and start the engine to see if the compressor will run momentarily. If it is indeed low on refrigerant, you can add some while the compressor is running. If the compressor doesn't work, then proceed with the replacement of the expansion valve.

Good luck!!

92 park ave AC won't go to auto stays on economy

If the freon level is ok, you have an electrical problem somewhere. The system will not activate because the control module "thinks" the freon level is low or because of another problem. It could be the module too.
You'll need a shop manual to get the test procedures for climate control ac to check the components and circuits.

1996 Park Ave, blower motor is intermittent... when it does work, the speed changes when I take a turn. It has Climate Control, so I think the control module is the culprit, but I can't find the darn...

Automatic climate control? The HVAC control module is the part with the buttons that control the heater in the dash.

The first thing I would do is access the blower motor. With key on and/or the engine running wiggle the connector at the blower motor. It you get the same symptom than replace the blower motor. I run into quite a few of these with this symptom.

The relay assmbly is located on the heater case under the hood in the same area as the blower motor its fairly big 2 or 3 7mm hex screws hold it in. its a module on the top of the case with 2 connectors on it guarantee this should fix it..
