Replace all those rubber vacuum lines to start. Do one at a time.

You may have mixed the plug wires around. If they are correct Check to see if exhaust is coming out of the tailpipe. I suspect a clogged cat converter. If it just started coin this since you worked on the vehicle it most likely is something you have done incorrectly. Whether it be wrong brand/type of sparkplug used to the wrong gap on the plugs.

I guess I'll start by saying a 22 yr old car could be reaching the end of its life, so I would keep the RPM under 3000 to help keep it on the road a little longer.
You did not say the plug wires have been replaced, and they could also cause the miss. Also, one of the coils or plugs could be faulty even if they have been replaced.
The check engine light is not on, right ?

1997 toyota starlet glanza v seems to lose power

Have you just started to have this problem recently? could be just some bad fuel. If not than I would lean towards checking or replacing your spark plugs & check spark plug wires for cracks. It could also be your catalytic converter is starting to plug up on you ? Check listed problems first before attempting anything else.

Missing, loss of power, etc.

sounds from afar like a problem i had after installing after market spark plug cables on a diff. car. make sure you have factory-quality/ even mits. brand cables. (right parts vs. after mkt.?- no contest.)
