I do not own one of these cars so I cannot provide a picture. The valve you want is at the opening of the intake manifold. Follow the intake tube from the air filter housing to the manifold. just after it connects behind the throttle assembly is the tuning valve.

You need to have the codes read to determine what is wrong. Bring it to a parts store, this is a free service. They will plug a hand held scan tool into the cars diagnostic port (under the dash), and 'read' codes stored on the cars computer. They can tell you what the code(s) mean, and suggest how to fix the problem. If you have any questions after that, post the codes and questions (and engine size) here.

In order to avoid paying a diagnostic fee at a service facility I would proceed to the nearest auto supply store that has a scan tool that you can use. If you are not sure how to use the tool ask the counter person to help you hook it up and retrieve the code from the vehicle computer. This code helps pinpoint what needs to be repaired in order to get that light to turn off. If you get the code(s) I will be happy to provide you with more information.

Check engine light on 2007 Chrysler 300. P1005

Sounds like a corroded connection on the engine harness or it's melted/rodent chewed around the manifold.

Need wiring diagram for 2005 chrysler 300 4 speed transmission

simple fix, not in your lifetime....
Chrysler purposely failed to give the customer a dipstick to check the transmission fluid ;
these 4 speed automatic transmissions have many problems, IE: water leaking into ****** wrecks everything; (where;s the recall chrysler?)
Chrysler has known about this and chooses to tap-dance around the problem.
Only a class action lawsuit, will make chrysler finally address this problem.
PS, the 5 speed does not have these problems, which proves chrysler addressed this issue but chose to screw previous owners out of huge sums of money with their BS denials.

Check engine light codes p1004 p1005

P1004 describes a problem with actual performance of the short runner valve (SRV), something used in your active air intake system to improve performance above 4500 RPM at or near wide open throttle. Its job is to change the path air takes within the tuned passages of the intake manifold, switching from a longer port runner length that's beneficial at lower engine speeds to one better for maximum horsepower at high RPMs. While there is likely a technical service bulletin that applies to your 3.5 engine that states this is a software issue, it hasn't been my experience in real life. The problem is almost certainly with actual performance of the SRV actuator, which is equipped with a potentiometer to track its actual travel... or performance... when actuated. The potentiometer is what goes bad on these units, something serviced only with a new SRV actuator. You won't likely notice any running problems with the engine other than perhaps the loss of a little high-RPM performance, but the MIL will keep coming on until the problem is addressed. The SRV is one of two servo actuators bolted to the plastic upper intake plenum and is the once closer to the center of the engine. It's easily removed and replaced using common hand tools (10mm socket and short extension) and costs in the neighborhood of about $350 I believe. It would be covered under the basic 3/36 warranty but not by the extended federal emission warranty unfortunately. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to write back.

P1005
It is not serious, but it will effect gas mileage and performance. Click on the link below, it will give you info on the code and how to find the problem: Code 1005 PDF

I'll be glad to help.
