Should be fuel injected check iac valve (idle air control ) these get cartooned up start sticking try tapping it lightly if idle changes pull it of clean it or replace it iac should two bolts and a 3-4 inch round cylinder on side of intake

This problem could be caused by a large number of faults. Clogged air cleaner, bad spark plugs or wiring, choke not opening (If this motor has a choke), oxygen sensor bad just to list a few possible problems.

Drive a ford ranger 2005 4l v6 bakkie it got a high idle problem when i drive its fine but as soon as i stop the rpm drops to normal and then just shoots up to around 2000 rpm and then gets stuck
Throttle Position/MAF/Sensor. I would check these. Probably Throttle Position asensor. May be EGR as well.

1987 Ford Ranger 2.0L idle is very high and wont go down
Sounds like you need W-D40 on all the movable parts of your carb. Also see what is blocking the butterfly to close all the way. Check the high idle linkage and see if it is properly closing all the way on warmup.
