In my Hyundai Santa Fe 2009 limited I put a credit card in the ashtray and it got stuck and fell behind the ashtray pull-out and I cannot get the ashtray out or behind the tray area. How can I get behind the ashtray?

Did the same thing in my 2012 Sante Fe Limited. Dealer wanted $137 to fix. Read this post and a few others and fixed it myself. It is tedius, painstaking work, but can be done in 30-40 mins -- carefully. Need a long, thin, flat-head screwdriver (or two). Gently pry the decorative wood paneling piece that surrounds the ash tray starting at the far right side (near front passenger door) and then left side (just to the right of the ignition) and gradually and gently make your way to the center from both sides. You'll basically be prying these pressure clips out of pre-formed slots in the dash. These clips are attached to the decorative wood panel and hold it in place when fully-seated. It may be helpful to pry the plastic molding from around the ignition switch just a tad as well. As you reach the center, prying gently from both sides, pull the entire assembly (ash tray is attached) out toward you. You may need to turn the ignition on and have someone else shift the transmission out of park to allow you to get the entire assembly completely out (Be sure they have their foot on the brake!). Once it's out, you can remove 6 philllips-head screws on the top of the ash tray assembly and remove your credit card, coins, or whatever. Replace the cover and 6 screws and then reverse the process to replace the assembly in the dash. Start from the left side since there is a small tab of decorative wood (plastic) that fits UNDER the plastic molding taht fits around the ignition. Once you get this aligned, attempt to align all the other clips with their pre-formed holes and then gently tap the assembly into its holes across the entire length. Some light force (I used my fist like I was pounding on a table) will likely be necessary to get it to properly seat all the way in. Finally, push the plastic molding around the ignition back into place. You're done...and you just saved $137!

I have a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited with all the extras. After changing my dead battery for a new one, my car won't start with just the key. Plus my hazards never turn off. I need help.

Question edited for clarity and maker.

It sounds like the anti-theft needs resetting. Number one tip when changing batteries is to maintain power using a battery charger or even a couple of long wires to the battery and battery connector as it is swapped out.

How do I remove the console from a 2007 hyundai santa fe? I'm stuck at the shift knob.

From the factory service manual

1. Remove the screws holding the console side cover and remove the side cover.

2. Remove the screws holding the floor console assembly and then pull out the floor assembly. (looks like a two screws inside the arm console in the diagram)

Steps to remove radio

  • Step 1:Disconnect the negative cable from the battery terminal. Position the cable to is doesn't come in contact with any metal parts.

  • Step 2:Pull out the ashtray and remove the two screws that connect the bezel around the radio. Pull off the climate control knobs and remove the two screws at the top of the bezel trim.

  • Step 3:Remove the trim and disconnecting any wires. Not all models will have connecting wires on the trim.

  • Step 4:Locate the two screws, one on each side of the Hyundai Santa Fe stereo, and pull the head unit out of the dash. Disconnect the wires behind the radio.
