SIR DISABLE:
DRIVER SIDE
Many service procedures require the air bag system to be disabled to prevent accidental deployment. The air bag system can maintain sufficient voltage to cause deployment for up to 2 minutes after the ignition switch is turned off, the battery ground cable is disconnected or the DERM fuse is removed. If the inflator module is disconnected from the deployment loop by the following procedure, service can begin immediately without waiting for the 2 minute time period to elapse.

  1. Turn steering wheel so that vehicle wheels are pointed straight ahead.
  2. Turn ignition switch to Lock position and remove key.
  3. Remove air bag fuse from fuse block.
  4. Remove steering column filler panel.
  5. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) and disconnect yellow two-way connector at base of steering column, Fig. 1.
PASSENGER SIDE

    Air bag clock spring replacement

You will have to remove your steering wheel to replace this. First disconnect your ground on your battery. Let the car sit for a couple minutes to make sure all charge is out of the wires. On both sides of the steering wheel, there will be to little square covers. Take those off. there will be a torque bolt behind these covers. Remove those. After doing this, your air bag on the steering wheel will be able to be removed. then your ill see a nut in the middle of the steering wheel. Remove this nut. The next step can be done in two ways. one you can get a steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel, or you can grab a hold of the steering wheel on both sides and shake the steering wheel loose. This will work most of the time but may not. After removing the steering wheel your clock spring will be underneath it. There is either two or four screws holding this on. install in reverse order. When you put your steering wheel back on, there are marks on the rod and the steering wheel you will need to line up to make sure your steering wheel is straight. If you have any more questions, just ask me.

The steering shaft has splines that allow the steering wheel to be positioned correctly with the front wheels.
Try tapping behind the streering wheel with a hammer to loosen so you can pull the steering wheel off.
If this does not work then you need a wheel puller to pull the steering wheel off the steering shaft.

Headlights not working even after bulbs and fuses replaced

Replace your headlight switch. You need torx bits, a steering wheel puller, and bolts to perform the repair.

Disconnect your negative battery cable and wait at least 1 minute before going any further (this insures your airbags are disabled if your vehicle has them).

Remove the plastic covers that cover the steering colum. If applicable, remove the airbag from the steering wheel; if you don't have a airbag pull the horn switch from the center of the steering wheel. Remove the retaining clip from the center shaft in the steering colum. Remove the bolt that holds the steering wheel, then use a steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel. Remove the torx screws from the headlight switch, and remove the electrical connectors. Install in reverse.

I hope this information helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.
