SOURCE: honda civic 2004 key will not turn in ignition

First try another key if you have one. Second insert the key and while slightly turning it wiggle the key in a upward & downward motion. Often this will allow the key to turn. What you need to do to correct the problem (provided your key is not the problem) is to replace the ignition switch tumbler. It sounds like you only need the tumbler and not the entire switch which would include the steering wheel lock pin.

SOURCE: My key is stuck in

The Key had locked into the slot of the lock settings. Do not force the key or use force because we will end up with a twisted key which will be much more diffficult to come out.
I hope you have not done so. Just softly start the car and reverse before turning the sterring and do another park, This is to make the inner locking section to free off- you can do so even in park but start to do this to engage the power steering. switch off and by a sligth shift of the steering remove the key--- While removing the key make a left/right action of the steering .
If the key is still locked in , there is a possiblity that the key is twisted within and must be looked into carefully so as not to break the key within. Please use some cleaning oil and turn key left /right with the steering moved in opposite direction.
Hope this works with this small help. Good day

SOURCE: does honda civic lx 2002 have a chip in the key?

Yes, it contains a transponder chip. If you still have the fob part with the chip in tape it to the plastic close to where you put the key in. Honda used a proximity transponder so as long as it is near by it will read it ok.

Ingition Switch problem

no, you just need to ONLY replace the cylinder and if the new key has a chip in it get a copy made and use that one with your old master key held next to it to start the car.

Ignition

Yes, Most keys now a days are made so that they carry a chip on the inside of them. You will need to take the car to a Honda dealership so they can get the key programed for you.

Wont start do i need to progran new key

the dealer needs to set the key code using the on board diagnostic computer.the body control module needs the signal
otherwise, thieves would simply plug in a new ignition to the existing harness and steal a car.
