Lights are adjusted on high beam only as low beam is always aimed to the side of the road and are low to prevent glare to oncoming vehicles. Adjusting high beam automatically puts low beam in the right position.

All vehicles have provisions for aiming headlights. Some are not as readily apparent as others. To answer you question - we'll need the year, make and model vehicle you have.

Thank you very much for the quick respond! It's RX-350 2015

Hi - this one is tricky.. apparently the dealer needs to be involved as the info in the manual about adjusting the aim is leaving everyone scratching thier heads. Have a look at this thread for a discussion about this issue - good luck! http://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-third...

Hi Steve, actually I am the huge fan of the Lexus forum and with exactly the same post went to the dealership :) Unfortunately, this post is about HID lights, I have halogens... Thank you for your attention and help!

Ahh, OK - you're one of the few that puts as much effort into solving your problems as some of the folks hear do for them. Kudos to you. Hopefully, you'll find workable solution - good luck!

Have a BMW X3 E83 2006 noticed one evening that my off side front headlight was pointing to the ground they are h7 halogen have adjusted up but beam still to low bulb sitting correctly, any suggestions

Try swapping the nearside bulb with the offside bulb. If the fault moves with the bulb, then the bulb itself is at fault. Occasionally, halogen bulbs give a distorted beam pattern, and no amount of adjustment will fix it. Also, make 100% certain the bulb hasn't been inserted upside down. There is a locating tab on the bulb, so make sure it is sitting in the cut out in the bulb holder correctly.

I have a 2005 chev impala can i replace my high beams headlights with just low beam lights

NO YOU HAVE TO REPLACE HIGH BEAM LIGHT BULBS WITH HIGH BEAM LIGHT BULBS BECAUSE HIGH BEAM LIGHT BULBS AND LOW BEAM LIGHT BULBS TWO DIFFERENT TYPES OF BULBS.WEAR CLEAN LATEX GLOVES HANDLING THE HEADLIGHT BULBS WHICH IS HALOGEN LIGHT BULBS, OIL FROM FINGERS OR HAND WILL CAUSE HALOGEN BULBS TO OVER HEAT BLOW OUT.

Headlight adjustment ford excursion

Note: The headlights must be aimedcorrectly. Ifadjusted incorrectly they could blind the driver of an oncoming vehicle andcause a serious accident or seriously reduce your ability to see the road. Theheadlights should be checked for proper aim every 12 months and any time a newheadlight is installed or front end body work is performed. It should beemphad that the following procedure is only an interim step which willprovide temporary adjustment until the headlights can be adjusted by a properlyequipped shop. 1-Identify the exact location of the adjustment screws: a) On halogen bulb style headlights, theadjustment screws are located on top of the housing. b) On sealed beam style headlights, theinboard (vertical) adjustment screw and the upper (horizontal) adjustment screware accessible on the exterior of the vehicle. 2-There are several methods of adjusting the headlights. Thesimplest method requires masking tape, a blank wall and a level floor. 3-Position masking tape vertically on the wall inreference to the vehicle centerline and the centerlines of both headlights. 4-Position a horizontal tape line in reference to thecenterline of all the headlights. Note: It may be 'easier to position thetape on the wall with the vehicle parked only a few inches away. 5-Adjustment should be ,made with the vehicle parked 25 feetfrom the wall, sitting level, the gas tank half-full and no heavy load in the vehicle. 6-Starting with the low beam adjustment, position thehigh 1ntensity zone so it is two inches below the horizontal line and twoinches to the side of the headlight vertical line, away from oncoming traffic. Adjustmentis made by turning the top (sealed beam) or inner (aerodynamic type) adjustingscrew clockwise to raise the beam and counterclockwise to lower the beam. The adjusting screw on the side should beused in the same manner to move the beam left or right. 7-With the high beams on, the high intensity zone shouldbe vertically centered with the exact center just below the horizontal line. Note: It may not be possible to positionthe headlight aim exactly for both high and low beams. If a compromise must be made, keep in mind that the low beams are the most used and have the greatest effecton safety. Have the headlights adjusted by a dealerservice department or service station at the earliest opportunity -

My headlights (low beam) and my brake lights keep blowing

If you are using halogen bulbs convert to standard incandescent bulbs. As halogen may be brighter, they are susceptible to blowing if they are jarred while they are hot, or if you install them and get fingerprints on them. Fingerprints on halogen bulbs leave a small amount of oil which causes heat irregularities on the surface of the glass and causes them to blow.

Adjust headlights

Any mechanic can aim your headlights for you , but I would consider buying new bulbs. Even if your car has halogens , they do become less bright over time.
Some of the new bulbs on the market will light up 2 to 3 times as far as older halogens.

How to adjust halogen headlights on bmw z4

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

Hi I bought a halogen headlight on ebay for a 2004 nissan 350z that I am fixing. but it won't fit. the plugs don't match the one in the car. what do I have to do.

You may have the wrong part. Cross-reference the part number with the correct part number, which should be located in your owner's manual.
