I have a factoys for this vehicle I will look it up
I'm am assumeing you have the 4.3 vortec
This is some what complex .There are 13 bolts in each head 3 different lenghts .You need 2 passes and there is a spicific order they need to be tightened in
The order works like this there are 7 bolts under the valve cover front to rear 12-8-4-1-9-13 and 6 more running down the intake manifold in line front to rear 11-7-3-2-6-10 .The 1-2-3-4-5 and so on front to rear that is how the # go so you need to move around it in a clockwise patten .First pass 22 flbs
The second pas they are talking toqure angles with the shortest bolts its 55 degrees beyond 22 flbs med L is 65 degrees and the long 75 degrees .this is torque angle
So at 22 f lbs and their is 360 degrees in a circle you need to move 55 -65 -75 degrees .For 3 differant bolt lenghts
Don't ask me why they do it this way but this is right out of the factory manaul for your vehicle

What are the cylinder head bolt torque specifications for a 2001 Chev Impala 3.4 litre engine

Hello0 melaniewaite,

The torque is 44 ft. lbs. plus 95 degrees. These are torque to yield bolts so it is highly recommended to use only New bolts.

See torque sequence below.

For 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier 2.2L SFI OHV 4cyl the check the next Head Bolt Torque sequence...

Step 1: torque long bolts 8,4,1,5, & 9 to 46 Ft/Lbs torque short bolts 7,3,2,6, & 10 to 43 Ft/Lbs
Step 2: torque all bolts an additional 90 degrees Recheck final torque in sequence

Replacing head

There should be 10 headbolts. This vehicle uses torque to yield headbolts and should be replaced with the new gasket. Bolts 1-8 get torqued to 40 ft lbs initially, bolts 9 and 10 get torqued to 30 ft lbs initially, Then all bolts get turned an additional 90 degrees. I would strongly suggest borrowing a torque angle gauge for doing this or you might be doing the same repair next week.

Need to find specks on cylingder head for 1996 toyota tercel

The cylinder head bolt torque is a 2 step process.

First: Torque all of the bolts to 45 Nm (450 Kgf-cm or 33 ft lbs.)
Replace any head bolt that will not torque to the above specs.

Second: after all ten bolts are torqued to the above specs, the head bolts are then "Torqued to Distance"...

Starting at the center bolts, retorque all ten bolts an additional 90 degrees.

Hope this helps, the graciousness of a FixYa rating would be greatly appreciated.

Tightening head

New Headbolts are recommended

Long bolts are torqued to 46'lbs + 90 degrees.

Short bolts are torqued 43'lbs + 90 degrees.

Start in the center, and work to the edges, torquing the bolts in two stages.

Rockers are torqued to 22'lbs.
