Code 55 on a 95 villager means "no codes found". If you are getting this code but the check engine light is on as well as the ABS light, then there is a good chance there is a problem with the ABS system itself. Manufacturers will often set it up so that multiple trouble lights will turn on to get your attention in the event of a major problem. If these lights are on together but you are getting 55, you will need to check the ABS system. It could be low brake fluid, or a problem with the ABS pump... There is also a chance that there is a blown fuse for either the ABS system or the diagnostics system which could also cause lights to turn on. One other possibility is that they are on for a factory set maintenance/service interval, meaning Mercury may have set these lights to turn on at a pre set mileage so that you will have the ABS system inspected at that point, although I don't believe this was very common in 95. My best advice is to check your fuses and fluid level, if none of these are the problem it might be a good idea to seek the help of a professional garage, you should never take chances when you're brakes are involved. Good luck :)

SOURCE: Check Engine Light

I had the problem with the engine light and the ESC light on. At the same time the car would not accelerate. I disconnected and reconnected the battery and works fine now.

55 EGR Temperature Sensor or Circuit

ABS light is nothing to do with code 55 separate fault circuits.

Under dash there are two wires with mini spades at the end, connect one of them to the single black multiplug in position 2. Thats RHS plug inlet when you hold plug with tab lock on top.
ABS sensor should then flash up error coded. Ignore code 11 thats a initial flash to let you nknow the difference between a fast and slow flash.

Let me know what code flashes up and I will tell you the symptom,

Dan

Take it to a shop before you have a wreck because your brakes failed.

If the code has cleared on its own then you need to disconnect the battery and re-connect it. This will clear the codes out of the memory. If you don't want to do this you can go to an auto parts strore and have them hook the little computer up to your car and they can clear out the code as well.

The majority of the time my speedometer stops working, and my ABS brake light and check engine light come on and stay on, but the car drives fine, but could be the problem it's a 99 so 95

99 or 95??? Most car parts stores will read your codes for free. Once you have the code definitions, then you can locate your problems. Most likely speed sensor and ABS sensor on one of the wheels.

95 Regal Custom, ABS code #95 brake switch circuit and no brake lights. Replaced SLS still no change.

Check the brake light switch (location pedal) unplug the switch & bridge the wires & if the brake lights come on the switch is faulty. all you are doing by bridgeing the wires is bypassing the switch. What is SLS?

Abs light

The warning light has very little to do with the hydraulic brake system.
The ABS system uses the hydraulic system to prevent the brakes from locking up.
You would need to have the body computer scanned for trouble codes to proceed with repairs.
