This could be a lot of things. All of which are none that you replaced. Check the ignition module. Looks like this: http://www.partstrain.com/store/??N=0&Ne=12058&Nr=AND%28part%3AIgnition+Module%29&PN=0&VN=4294962818+4294962817+4294967144&Nr=AND(part:Ignition Module) Then if that is not the issue, check the fuel pump.

Testimonial: "Thanks alot I went to the link u provided it showed me a ignition coil. Is this wat I need ? Want to make sure b4 I go get the piece today."

The "wait 5 min" makes it sound like a fuel problem.
Hope this helps.

My 96 jeep Laredo will not turn over. I've checked

sorry turns over means ZERO
the crank shaft can spin or not
the starter can in fact spin and crankshaft not.
and some think turns over means, engine runs. now that fact makes turns over, a dead statement.

the word is cranks over, the engine cranks over robustlyl
and then the engine runs.
then runs for more that 3 seconds, and the ASD relay holds. (step by step his works like this ,93 to now)

wont crank ? (clear statement in fact)
cranks ok, (crank shaft spins fast) can be seen and heard.
runs for 3 seconds? and stalls (ASD relay drop out) can be seen.
runs for 5min and stalls. (complex)
runs for hours and stalls. (even more complex)
all are key facts to the solution.

tell more..... tell all it does good bad or ugly
for better suggestions!

Alternator

Try checking you belt tension. That happened to me once while I was driving. Turned out to be a broken fan belt.

First, I notice the speedometer and tac. are not functioning, Interior lights are dim, ac controls turned of aswellas cruise control shuts off. Not sure if its alternator or voltage reg. or what else it...

Check wire between the alternator and battery for good connection. (larger red wire connected to the alternator that is always "hot")You are correct in assuming that the alternator is not charging. Not sure if the regulator is integral with the alternator on yours but they should be replaced together as often failure of one weakens the other. Before replacing, have the system tested (including battery condition after being fully charged) check for voltage and load test).
A weak battery will cause the alternator to work overtime...if battery is bad, it can cause the new alternator to quickly fail again.
