In the 1999 Jaguar xj8 there is a fuel cutoff switch on the passenger side right hand panel to the right of the feet. Reach over the top rear of the small panel and find a soft flexible membrane on the top of the switch and press it until it clicks.if that doesnt work, there is a fuel pump relay in the trunk fusebox that might be the problem. 1998 Jaguar XK8 fuel safety shutoff Bing images
You hit a pothole hard enough and I guess it could have shut off your fuel safety switch. It is designed to shut off in the event of a serious accident or roll over, so it could have tripped. Locate the cutoff and verify it is on or off.
Testimonial: "It wasnt any switch one of the fuses. In the trunck that join the battery together snapped so I had to find a conductor in the mean time but thank u"
Sorry Raul, really bad news. You'll have to give me the car as it is beyond fixing. Aw, JUst Kidding!!!!
Seriously, I would be looking for a bad ground first. Check the battery terminals. Make sure the connections are not corroded and nice and clean. Make sure the ground to the engine is clean and secure. There are lots of electricals. Does anything work?
Check the connections on the starter and solenoid.
Patience, calm.... You'll find it.
I ran three every thing took apart the middle console the side panels in foot wells checked every fuse disconnect the terminals tried direct brand new battery no corrosion any where I just don't get it's as if there was no battery in the car
Hi Raul: I'm betting Randymanfive has it nailed. Was doing some thinking and wondered if your vehcle has a disable switch... Googled it, and lots of info. Here's a it I copied....The inertia switch is installed next to the fuse box in the LH end of the fascia. When activated, it de-energizes the ignition relays in the engine compartment, driver's side fascia and trunk fuse boxes. It also removes ground inputs from the BPM and windshield wiper stalk switch. This stops the engine and fuel pump, unlocks any locked door, and de-energizes unnecessary electrical systems. The switch is reset by pressing down on the rubber cap on the top of the switch. If your doors lock, windows, seats and the wipers work and the dash lights up then all should be good, but if it makes you feel better reset the inertia switch . Hope it helps.
