Dear sir. hope my mail is find you healthy. its finally mail hope you are can answer me soon. I check the car by Engine scanner computer, its show wire of air flow sensor is cut, and when I took my car to the expert auto repair they say you must to change complete the engine wiring coz its dry or Fragile wire maybe some place is loss or short, so I need your help to how I fix it by my self . thanks
Its a common problem with the w202 in other parts of the world don't know why as the uk cars don't have this problem if they have said it need rewiring it probably will do as the engine bay wires have a tendency of going brittle and shorting its a very expensive job. is the car worth spending that kind of money on as there only worth 1500 pounds or so in mint condition
Dear ivan whsker.
The wiring is going dry and brokenble in this model Benz1994 , after long time its going short, when the wiring is get short after one week engine control is going damage than you must buy new one
mine is a 1994 c180 wiring is in exellent condition but as i said if you read other threads there is a problem with the wiring usually from usa and hotter countrys you will have to see if its worth doing the job as its a lengthy and expensive job

that appears to be a camshaft position sensor performance code. you can start by checking to see if the sensor is working properly, re-check and make sure that the harness is ok by checking the resistance through the harness if all looks well there make sure the computer has the latest software on it by having it scanned at your local dealer. also you can check the reluctor wheel on the camshaft for damage or debris in the way of the sensor.
hope this helps!

SOURCE: timing marks
this is an easy one to time. the timing mark for the crank is 0 degrees-do not attempt to tum crank if cam timing is out. there is no distributor on this engine-it is advanced with your intake camshaft. The intake camshaft is the only tricky part to time. Be very careful because at 2500 rpm this cam actually moves forward via cam advance solenoid. It will hit your crank if not timed properly! so with your crank at o degrees-camshafts out of head if you need to turn engine to line up crank-on the exhaust cam(your left)behind the gear(on flange) there will be a hole big enough to put a small punch in that will line up with the top of the deck surface on the outer side(to the left). Now on your intake cam(your right) it will be just the opposite. the hole on the back side of the gear flange will line up on the right with the to p the deck surface. once in line hold intake cam and turn the gear(advancer) all the way to the right)-very important. You will have to start with you intake(put chain on) then line up your exhaust and install timing chain tensioner. always turn engine 360 degrees and recheck before you proceed. At least your at top dead center and you can visually see the lobes on both cams mostly straight up. hope I have been helpful.
