Check the fuses and relays.
Check for unplugged or loosely plugged in wiring connectors.
Does the radio work or not work. If it works then it is only power to the CD unit -- if you can pull the cd unit out -- take to auto radio shop to check it out -- if you are not able to pull it or or do not want to -- to auto to the radio shop.

TRY REMOVING THE RADIO FUSE & WAIT A WHILE. IT SHOULD RESET WHEN PLUGGING THE FUSE BACK IN.

Under the glove compartment where the passengers right foot is at there's a pannel you can take out

On my '06 Navigator the navigation dvd goes in a slot on the console to the left of the passenger's feet. There's a removable panel.
On a side note... does anyone have a newer dvd for Canada? The one that came with my vehicle is compile for the Quebec (*gasp*) market and is outdated.

Most likely the problem you are experiencing with the park assist is a fault in one of the sensors mounted in the rear bumper. I would not consider it to be a major fix, however there will be a few hours labor involved as the bumper cover needs to be removed to replace the sensors.
