The best way to remove it is to follow clear instructions using a Haynes Workshop Manual. I have bought these manuals for all of the cars I have owned over the years, they are a great way to plan how the repair or replacement will proceed and what tools you might require. They also prepare you for possible areas to wacth for when removing items to avoid injury to yourself or further damage to your car. All procedures are marked in 'number of spanners' to show the difficulty level involved.

I have replaced rear wiper motors in the past. It is fairly straightforward but The Haynes Manual will be the best $20 you spend.

SOURCE: rear wiper motor

raise up the tail gate . remove the phillip screws holding the handle or pull down strap.remove all other screws holding the rear plastic tail gate panel in place than start in one corner try to pull down on the plastic panel as it is also held in place with push style plastic clips.you can use a straight blade screw driver to start releaseing the clips.once you have the panel off you have done the hard part/ just unbolt the wiper motor and reassemble.
good luck chris

SOURCE: 1990 dodge ram pickup wiper stopped working. Motor

First you have to remove the metal caps covering the wiper blade locking nut then remove the nut and leftthe wiper arm assembly up and rock back and forth till loose. then pull arm off as you wiggle the arm. next raise the hood and remove the 4 inside screws at the back of the hood remove the valance and the 2 plastic holding clamps then lift up. Once you have valance off look to see if the gears are stripped on the motor or the shaft if they are go to a junk yard and buy new parts. you will find the short rod and a long rod, they should be connected, if not the ball on the end of the long rod may have poped out turn on key then wiper motor and watch the parts move. You will be able to see it right away.
Hope this helps. If you need more asstance please post here and thanks for using fix-ya

Rear wiper stop working. The fuse and relay under the hood are good, But the long fuse under the rear seat was hot when I tried to remove it. Bought a new fuse but when it's installed it makes a clicking...

Sounds like the wiper mechanism is jammed and the motor shaft can't turn, drawing a lot of current. I would remove rear panels to get at the mechanism and verify/repair this.

The rear window won't open or close. the rear wiper dosen't work either. Both stopped at the same time. I can't find a blown fuse. Im not sure where to look next.

If the wiper motor when bad, and stop in any position ,other than its resting position, the rear body ecu disable the window motor, Do this test remove the rear panel and at the same time that the wiper switch is On ,tap the motor with the hammer gently if it gets activated the problem is the motor.

My rear wiper has stopped working on kia sportage 2006. can hear switch ok and fuse ok, how do i remove trim to get to rear wiper motor

Test for power at motor.

Test for power at motor. If you have power, then replace.wiper motor. trim should be held on with panel clips that can be removed with a special panel removal pliers

Rear Windsreen wiper motor runs continuousley in

The "stop" function is in the motor of the wiper...remove the fuse and call it a day...You shouldn't use it anyway the rear glass is "soft" in these cars and the wiper action will damage the glass over time.
Sorry :o(

2005 ford expedition rear wiper

Sounds like a problem within the wiper motor not turning off at rest or not reaching it's rest point to be able to turn itself off, probably needs a new motor. Disconnecting it should have no relation to the front washer operation, you can confirm this by reconnecting the wiper motor to try.

2000 Honda Odyssey rear wiper motor replacement

You are probably correct in thinking its the wiper motor. You can do this but you will need to remove all the interior trim from the rear hatch first. Get a trim clip removal tool at a parts store...it will work much better than just a flat blade screwdriver. You'll have to remove the trim panels starting in order from the top of the door, then the left rear window side trim, then right rear window side trim, then the grab handle, and finally the main rear hatch trim panel. Once inside, removing and replacing the rear wiper motor is easy. You'll start by lifting the cover on the wiper arm retention nut. Remove this nut to get the wiper arm off, then remove the nut under neath which is the motor shaft mounting nut. Now, back inside to remove the other 3 motor mounting bolts. Don't forget to disconnect the connector for the motor wires. Reverse steps to replace.
