I'm looking to do a heater core bypass on my 93 Jeep Wrangler If I'm not mistaken is my top heater hose 3/4 and lower heater hose at 5/8?

Have the cooling system pressure tested. If it holds pressure, that's a good thing. If it doesn't hold pressure, you may have a leaking head gasket. What may be happening is the crack in the head gasket could be blowing hot air into the cooling system causing it to overheat.

SOURCE: HEATER CORE REPLACEMENT!

I have a 1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ...My heater core needed replacement when I bought it about a year ago. I made the mistake of taking apart the dash to get to the heater core. DO NOT DO THIS!!! It is actually 4 screws that you must take out from the inside of the engine compartment on the firewall. Then it will come right out. Have fun!!!

Yes it can be done. look at your engine on it there will be two heater hoses coming from the engine to the heater, disconnect those two heater hoses at engine, with heater hose and two hose clamps, get the hose and clamp first at auto parts, install one end and the other end of same hose, where you disconnected the heater hoses from the engine, you have just by-pass the heater, hope this was very helpful.

Not really, the heater core would still get hot enough to produce enough heat and usually the hoses will fall to the right spot making it hard to put them on the wrong ends. Why was the heater core changed? was it clogged? Did you flush the engine out to prevent the new core from clogging up? Have you looked into it being a stuck open thermostat?

Fill the rad or overflow bottle right to the top and run the engine with no cap on,if you see a constant flow of bubbles your head gasket is leaking or you have a crack somewhere in the cooling system.

I need to know how to bypass a heater core to a 01 jeep wrangler, till I can replace the heater core
Bypass is simple. Remove both hoses at the firewall where they connect to the heater core. Install a four inch piece of half inch copper pipe between the hoses and use screw type clamps to tighten it up.
If you don't let the hoses drop down while you are working you won't loose much coolant (probably about a cup or so) but check level anyhow after running it for a few minutes.

I have a 4cyl 1999 Jeep Wrangler. The heater only blows warm air, no hot air. I have back flushed the heater core with a garden hose and there was no clog. I have checked the t-stat and it is...
The key is the heater hoses. The top hose is the inlet for the heater core and the bottom is the return line. If the bottom hose is not hot, there is little flow through the heater core. It does not have to be completely clogged to reduce the heat output. The core needs to be flushed multiple times IN BOTH DIRECTIONS through the heater hoses. If this does not restore the heat, try a commercial/radiator flush. Many people have had alot of success by filling the core, through the heater hoses, with a CLR type product and letting it sit for 10-15 minutes to remove scale followed by a thorough flush.

LOOKING AT HEATER CORE TOP HOSE COOLANT FLOW IN BACK OUT THROUGH THE BOTTOM HEATER CORE HOSE CHECK WATER PUMP BYPASS HOSE SEE IF IT GETS HOT.IF NOT COULD BE BLOCKAGE AT BYPASS HOSE FROM WATER PUMP OR WATER COULD BE FAULTY GETTING TOO WEAK PUMP COOLANT THROUGH SYSTEM.IF COOLANT GETTING HOT GOING TO HEATER CORE THE HEATER CORE AND COOLANT SYSTEM NEED FLUSHING OUT.

My 1998 jeep wrangler's heater is blowing cold air. what could be the problem?
You more then likly have a cloged heater core It looks and works just like your radiator but its smaller and its inside the truck under the dash board Check to see what your antifreeze looks like if its brown and rusty looking its probably the core You can disconnect the two 5/8 ths hoses from it out side on the fire wall get a couple of feet of heater hose cut it in half so you have two peices about a foot longplug them on the heater core then take a garden hose with a nozzle on it and try forceing water back and forth from one side to the other through the core this may claer the restriction out It dosen;t work every time but the alturnitive is to replace the core and on most vehicles this not an easy job although it may not be that hard to get to on a wrangler hope this helps

2000 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 liter: Air conditioner drips condensate on passenger side floor. Is there a drain somewhere that could be plugged?
There is a drain tube on the lower part of the firewall that is probably plugged.Normally I use a pick to dislodge debris some use coat hangers but you must be careful not to poke at too hard and cause a freon leak in the evaporator core.

Can I flush out the heater core on my 98 Jeep Wrangler with a water hose?
Sure, just cut pressure back if you have a lot of pressure in that hose, as your system usually runs 15-20 psi. You'll be ok, as long as one side is open. Make sure you reverse flush as well, it helps dislodge debris. If you plug lower tube, attach a hose to other, and use a funnel on that hose, or hold it up high, and pour CLR into core, and let it sit in there for a while, it will help loosen up calcium etc, that builds up inside core, before you flush it out. Just a suggestion, but I've done it on several to increase flow through core when idling to increase temperature in vehicle at idle.

1984 Jeep CJ7 heater core leaking. '93 inline 6 motor. Wrangler dash. How to I remove the core?
  1. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain cooling system.
  2. Disconnect heater core hoses.
  3. Disconnect damper door control cables.
  4. Disconnect blower motor electrical connector.
  5. Disconnect water drain hose and defroster hose.
  6. Remove nuts retaining heater housing assembly to instrument panel. Remove heater housing assembly by tilting heater downward to disengage it from air inlet duct and pulling toward rear of vehicle.
  7. Remove heater core from heater housing.
  8. Reverse procedure to install.

Try this disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core use a hose to backflush the core. Then reconnect and try again.
