I have a 2006 cobalt ss/sc. The supercharger boost gauge only reads 3 psi at most (should be 12 max). What would cause this and possible fixes. Thank you.

Bad gasket/seal. Supercharger is bad. Can't see it being worn out being a 2006.

I use 5W30 Mobile 1 synthetic-5 quarts.

The air filter change is a real pain.
Remove driver side tire.
Remove driver side wheel well.
You will see the filter canister in the front of the wheel well.

I had a mechanic do it for me and it took him 1.5 hours. If you plan to do it yourself, be sure you have plenty of time and alot of patience.

2005 chevy impala SS 3800 Supercharged. The PSI Boost gauge will not register above -10 PSI even when accelerating on the highway. Needle never moves from spot when the car is shut off.

The boost gauge is a vacuum gauge, probably connected by a hose. At this age, hoses fail. Check all hoses, they are all connected to the same intake, so one failure will take the whole system down.

The Cobalt’s LS, LT and LTZ sedan share a 2.2-litre Ecotec inline four-cylinder. The SS uses the 2.4-litre, while the SS Supercharged coupe carries a 2.0-litre Ecotec with supercharger.
