Too difficult to say online. You need to go to a trans expert or good DIYer / enthusiast. Is there enough fluid in it?

SOURCE: no reverse sometimes geo metro a/t

The accelator cable is "Y" shaped. one side goes to the carb and the other to the tranmission. If you have the carb.side too tight it will give you the problem that you are having.

You will have to have the solenoid body replaced in the tranny and have the PCM reprogrammed.

SOURCE: 99 malibu horn honks shifting into D or R

wires from the horn run down the steering column and pass the area where the shift linkage is also in the column. its either a loose wire, or a chafted wire inside the column. Be VERY careful working on this if you have airbags. they must be disarmed before you work on the column.

This will hopefully be the shift cable or related linkage. Disconnect the shift cable from the transmission and inspect both the cable the linkage on the transmission, for damage. There should be zero play on both. Please let me know what you find and if you have any other questions, good luck.

2002 chevy 2500hd won't engage in reverse and ony drives in neutra posistion

It may be the shifting cable is split or out of adjustment. You can check this by going under the truck and disconnection the cable at the lever and seeing if you can shift it through all six detents [ park- reverse- neutral- drive- second- first ], The truck shouldn't be running and the wheels blocked. If it moves through all the stops, then it's the cable.

The weld on the manual lever is known to break loose. First, with the wheels off the ground, with the lever in the park position, does the drive shaft lock in park? If yes or no sometimes, drop the trans pan. I bet the nut on the lever camd loose.
