Check the brakes for:
-worn parts
-debris stuck or wedge in brake assembly.
check wheels and tires for wear and debris.
Clicking is due to rotation of axle and wheel/tires.

Testimonial: "just changed the pads 2 weeks ago I was told the fluid in the rear diff might need to be changed would that cause the clicking noise I only hear it when going real slow 5-10mph"

if there is a click coming from diff -- you have more problems that just fluid change. It could be a ball ball in the axle bearing. This would be a reuslt of low fluid and or grime getting into that area. Check parking brake cables.

Wheel bearing? If you turn left and it gets louder. It is the right wheel bearing. And vice versa.

Rear end howls and vibrates, most noticeable at 50-65 mph. Noise only depends upon vehicle speed, does not change with gear or if in neutral.

Sounds liike a ring and pinion on rear differential. U can pull the cover off and check this or another thing would be to check your u-joints.

put high quality gear oil in the metal filler cap on the rear end if that dont work it could be that your rear end is shot

two things you want to check u joints at drive shaft and also check your rear end check for play where drive shaft joins to rear end and transmission let me know

Yes that would be the common cause of the noise, but it would be the ring and the pinion gear as they are a matched set. This noise would be speed sensitive and come and go with throttle application, you would likely hear it best at steady speeds about 50 MPH. Other noises like bearing are nosey all the time.

pinion depth was not set properly when the rear end was done, take it back where you had it done. Probably by now the ring and pinion have suffered unrepairable damage and will have to be replaced again.

HI if the noise comes and goes when you accelerate or decelerate you may be dealing whit the ring and pinion needs adjustment or is going out, remove the rear cover and check for excess metal shavings,Hope this help

I HAVE A 2003 AVIATOR, & I'M GETTING A CLICKING

I had a resent exp with this noise coming from my rear right... after 5 trips to Sears.... It is the parking brake shoe slaping around... ahave that wheel removed and the brake and the rotor... and behold the broken parking brake shoe will most likley fall out once the above is taken apart......
