How do i change the manifold gasket on 1995 camaro

Intake or exhaust manifold? Intake manifold is gasket is a pretty big job that gets complicated even further with tight working quarters under the hood of a camaro. You have to remove the fuel injection system to access the intake. you may also have to remove some of the drive accessories, e.g, AC, alternator, etc. GM was using a two piece intake for a while. not sure if your car has one or not. you will need to get gaskets for the upper and lower intake. you will need a large assorment of tools and several hours to perform the task. Get a repair manual and look over the procedure before starting. Locate all the components the procedure mentions. Follw the instructions and take your time. Lay everything out in an organized manner as you pull it off your car. Keep everything clean and be careful not to drop anything down the intake ports...Reassembly is just the opposite, keeping things organized will save you time going back together. good luck. exhaust manifold will be a major pain in the backside. pay somebody if its the exhaust

Not yet I'm have to go buy the intake gasket first

I don't know the type of vehicle that you are talking about but before doing a intake gasket you might just try a good tune up first to include a new distributor cap as well. Also your cam position sensor or crank position sensor may be covered with dirt and grime that is causing a little trouble with the pick up. Just some things to check.

My 2003 ford mustang is sputtering and the check engine light is blinking no code

You can get a free scan from Autozone, Oreilys, or Advance auto parts. This should indicate a problem. If the standard test scanner does not verify a problem, the Dealers have more advanced scanners which can capture intermittent problems.

There are so many possibilities that you need more tests to find the problem. Offhand, if this is a V6 engine, there were problems with intake Manifold runners and sandwich gaskets for 2 piece intake manifolds.

Stuck manifold runners could provide lousy low rpm performance and perfect high rpm performance just like you describe whether a V6 or V8. The 2 piece intakes were used on V6 engines and once you get above midrange in Rpm, it could run acceptably at higher Rpm.

Intake manifold gasket leaking

You need to put a mark on the dist. and one on the firewall so when you drop the dist. back in the marks line up and maintain the engine timing, also do not move the oil pump shaft the dist. goes into. When replacing the intake gaskets you will need to use rtv in each corner (front and rear each side) on the china wall to seal rubber seals for the front and rear across the intake area. If you did not get the rubber seal across the china wall you can put a heavy bead of rtv across and seat the intake in it, just don't move the intake after seating it on the engine. Hope this helps.

After wams up, turns hard to start, seems to miss and has high idle

Sounds like the plenum (Upper Intake ) gasket is bad. Get a flashlight and look for pieces sticking out where the upper intake meet the lower intake,. Its called a ladder gasket, thats what it kinda looks like. Hope this helps. Cobra :-)

If this car needs head gasket is it worth buying

A head gasket repair is major work, not worth it unless the car is really nice and dirt cheap. One side note is that if this car has the 3.1 or 3.4 liter engine they are notorious for intake gaskets leaking that will have alot of the same symptoms as a head gasket but its alot less work to repair. Good luck!

White smoke coming out tailpipe

If your intake gaskets are leaking, when you dump soapy water on the gasket, it should bubble like crazy ( when it's running). If you can, run it with the rad cap off and watch for bubbles. If it keeps bubbling, you probably have a head gasket problem.

Very uneven running

Here are a few things to check check idle speed control , TPS- throttle position sensor and also very important check for vacuum leak on intake any broken hoses or intake itself gasket leaking Very possible for this problem. A simple test is when engine is running up and down use an intake cleaner (in compressed can) and spray around intake manifold if there is a vacuum leak the engine will surge up . This could man intake gasket or vacuum leak. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA.
