Most fuel injection systems require around 35psi in order for the injectors to function properly.

2005 wrx 2.0 getting fuel to the rail but not to injectors or engine. cranking for about 30 secouns causes backfire in the intake but engine wont start. what could be the problem?

Well technically you have fuel in the engine if you are getting a backfire in the intake. I would say the fuel is getting thru the injectors.
But maybe not at the right time.
Has anything happened to the timing belt or cams ?

Changed O2 sensors and white smoke starts pouring out of exhaust

White smoke is usually steam which would indicate a blown head gasket or crack in block. Hope it's something easier.

Why does my truck backfire thru the carborater when it is hot outside?

A backfire is caused when your intake valve/s aren't closing completely before ignition in the cylinder. This ignites any fuel/air mixture left in the intake manifold. Fine tune your timing.

1988 taurus turn off motor when trying to restart will start but backfires thru air intake and runs weak

It is likely your timing belt/chain has slipped a notch. Remove timing cover and check valve timing and condition of belt/chain. If you need help, please let us know.

Have someone press on the gas petal while you feel the exhaust coming out of the tail pipe.It should have more exhaust coming out as the petal is pressed farther down. This method is checking for a restriction in your catalitic converter. A high flow type is best. Also make sure your air filter is clean and nothing blocking your air filters intake.
