Will the selector lever in the cab click into Park, or does the selector lever not reach that position any longer?
If it physically cannot reach the position and lock into it as per usual, then the linkage underneath needs adjustment.
if it reaches and clicks into Park position but the transmission does not lock, then there is a problem with the pawl not tngaging and locking the trans.
Always try to adjust the linkage before delving into the trans in cars something is worn, broken or has slipped put of position.

I have to wait along time for it to respond when entering drive

does it clunk into the gear or is it just drive, if it is all the gears then it might be low on tranny fluid but if it does it only in drive it may be a solenoid you may want to have it checked if it is only one gear

Transmission slipping

absolutely. every maker like honda, nissan , toyota, have there specific tranny fluid to use because it does not over heat the tranny. dexron lll will hurt any japanese cars. i would check to which fluid they used and check with the dealer for the proper spec of oil.
