That may be an optional function. You may have to reprogram that option. Some doors lock when the car is put in "Drive" others when the car exceeds a certain speed ...and you may have the option on the Caddy to do either or ...not have the locks do anything.
How, exactly, you do it on your Cad I don't know. Check the owners manual if you have it. Here's a downloadable .pdf for the manual:

SOURCE: four wheel drive does not work
I had this problem before. My mechanic fixed it though. He said that the 4 wheel drive operates on a vacuum system. He said he could replace it with the same type but I would probably have this problem again. So I had him put on manual locking hubs. I havn't had any problems yet but I have to get out and turn the hubs by hand.
