I have a 2000 GMC Yukon XL 5.3L- the heater is blowing a little warm air out and there is nothing coming out of the defroster vents. I flushed the heater core out and it is doing the same thing.

SOURCE: 2000 gmc sierra 1500 5.3 v8. a/c heater control problem

your heat/cool and vent selection options are controlled by engine vacuum through small clear tubes attached to the rear of your climate control interface. Other vehicles have small steel pull wires that operate the desired changes. You might try removing the trim and any fasteners affiliated with the interface/console. GENTLY pull outward and look to see if any of these tubes are pulled off or cut/damaged. Did anyone recently install a new stereo in the vehicle? If so, the vacuum tubing and or pull wires that change your outlets could have been damaged when the stereo unit was pushed into place. Hope this helps

Wet floor on the passanger side in front and behind front seat. took out front seat and nothing. 2003 yukon xl 1500 2 wheel drive

Check your radiator fluid level, if it is low it is a good chance your heater core or the hose to the heater core has a leak. The heater core is a small version of a radiator which has the air from the blower blow across it to force warm air into the cabin of the vehicle. You will need to probe under the passenger's dash to locate the leak.

A/C not blowing thru vents just defroster and floor

It is a vent door actuator motor on top of the blower box,the dash has to be removed and set in the seats to replace the actuator motor.Cost for the part is about 50.00 dollars

Hot air coming through defrost vent when the defrost is not on.

I have seen this on GM vehicles before. If you take the temp selector and change it to the middle or to cool it will not let warm air go through the defrost vent. The hot air coming out of the defrost vent is because the heater core has warm coolant going through it- and the user generally has warm selected on the temperature setting.
