The vehicle stutters under load, especially going up an incline..... There is alll of a sudden a rotten egg smell coming from the exhaust and the check engine light came on. what does this indicate and what is the fix?

Hey there riddick,
That rotten egg smell is a problem with your catalytic converter. Too much back pressure is not allowing your engine to run normally.
I'll bet its been getting hot too.
Warning: For your own safety, until this is resolved, do not look under or stick your head under the car with the engine running. I've been in a vehicle when a converter with these same symptoms blew apart at the seam. Made my head hit the roof. If it happened a few minutes earlier I would've gotten a faceful of freshly flattened converter. So be careful.
To tell for sure about the problem, try to get it to an auto parts store that does free code readings from your On Board Diagnostics. There should be errors referencing the engine, O2 sensors and emissions. The exact diagnostic codes with determine your next course of action.
