When you lock it up does the alarm activate you say this problem only started after changing battery sounds like its the mobiliser lock and open car from inside with key in ignition hope this helps

If it is and automatic, put your foot on the brake and rack it through all the gears and back into Park.
My mother worked as a secretary at Land Rover in Solihull for 16 years until she retired. She drove a number of test vehicles and a prototype of the Vogue Turbo Diesel to visit me down in Cornwall.
No idea here to be honest i think you have two seperate problems here so firstly try entering the radio code as i think you have disconnected the battery ,now as for the non starting then look in the book that came with the vehicle and their should be a code for the key to reprogramme the immobilisor where you turn the key in the lock so many times to the left and right to release it and only these vehicles have this except some rovers which are now defunct as you no doubt know .
immobiliser also cuts starter motor so probably ok i would check the fuel pump is delivering enough fuel take off fuel filter put container under it and put ignition on you should get a strong flow
looks like you have something draining the battery (something electrical staying on) disconnect your battery negative terminal and connect a test light between the battery post and the wire clamp if the light comes on you have battery drain (make sure interior light is out when testing) you now need to go through all elctrical systems to trace the reason why ( check boot light goes out first this was a favorite cause)
right, what machine you using.
what is it pet or diesel.
i have so much diagnostics and cant touch range rover, i get the same.
i go to the dealers and they get the codes.
range rovers are buggers, land rovers not a prob, its stupid isnt it.
if the locks work ok from the door manual switch then u have no fuse problem and may nedd to either install new batteries in the remote or if u have done that re-program them.
