Water recently got into the rear light assembly of my 1993 Honda Accord EX. I realized this when my 'brake lamp' warning light came on...I removed the water and cleaned up the sockets. The signal light is working and the running light works when I turn on the headlights, but I can't get the brake lights(passenger side rear, trunk hood or back window)to work on the side that got wet. The only part that doesn't light is the filament that lights when the brakes are applied. Besides drying out everything, I also checked all my fuses. They all seem fine. Any clues of what might try next? Thanks...
The turn signal bulb was blown, but I cleaned the socket and replaced the bulb and it works. I did the same with the brake light socket and also replaced that bulb. That bulb has two filaments(I guess that's what they're called). The one that comes on when the headlights are on, works...but the filament for the brakes doesn't light when the brakes are applied. The brake lights in the trunk lid and back window also do not work. The brake light on the other side of the car works fine. Is there a relay or circuit board that could be the problem? The turn signal bulb was blown, but I cleaned the socket and replaced the bulb and it works. After trying all that I knew to try to fix this problem...I ordered a used tail light assembly and installed it. It worked! I can see a gap around the edges where rain could get in again, so I'm going to seal all the edges with 100% Silacone. Hopefully that will keep water out in the future. This sounds like Brake Light Switch, can be found at any local parts store, for under $15 and easy enough to replace. The switch is located under the brake pedal and depresses when you hit the brakes, causing the brake lights to turn on. Replacing this is cheap and easy.
Inside the trunk you will have to pull back the carpet and a the carpet material behind the tail light assembly should have nuts 2-4. once these are removed the assembly can be removed from the outside. Just turn the light socket and replace the bulb.
It won't make any difference, seeing that the car is older and you don't have the ABS functionable it won't change anything. You already have the ABS light on so nothing new will happen.

The e-brake probably has an adjustment nut either under the brake when you have it pulled up or simply removing a small plastic plate at the back of the console as seen from the rear seat.
You wil probably need about a 12mm deep socked to adjust it. If the nut is bottomed out you will need to adjust if at the wheels.
As far as the seatbelt, you will need to access the reel assembly and determine if the belt is in a bind or the internal spring in the reel is broken. You should be able to tell what the problem is when you get to the reel.
The back brakes on my Honda Accord are disc brakes. After removing the brake cylinder assembly you will see the brake cylinder piston end has a slot in it. The short pin on the back side of the inner brake pad fits into this slot, but also it is used to 'Turn' (clock-wise) the piston back into the cylinder so you fit the assembly back over the new 'thicker' pads. You can not 'press' this piston back into the cylinder.
It's not a big deal unless that dash light really annoys you.. I've owned 4 Honda Accords ('83, 87, and two '89 models) and they've ALL done the same thing. I just learned to live with it, after all it doesn't mean you really have a brake light or tail light out at all, just a quirky thing about these cars, probably a sensor. And given that I've gotten over 300,000 miles out of EVERY oldr Accord I've owned, without major problems or huge repair bills, that little "idiot light" on the dash is just fine with me! One consistent problem I have had however is water leaking and collecting in the tail lights themselves (I use a small drill bit to drain water from the tail light without cracking it) and also water leaking into the spare tire compartment in the trunk (I drill a hole right thru the metal with large drill bit to drain this water and have no water buildup after that).. I've found that with just basic maintanence these vehicles last FOREVER so take care of it and it will take care of you, and don't sweat the small stuff as long as it gets u from A to B...
