It could be a sticking oil pressure relieve valve when cold or a weak oil pressure switch when cold. the oil pressure should be checked when first started cold.

Dies while decellerating

Check your oil. It is possible that your car has a low oil pressure shutoff and when cresting the top of the hill, the oil goes to the back of the oil pan, telling the sensor it has no oil and shutting down the car before any damage occurs.

Flickering Oil LIght

Have you checked your oil level? How long since you have had it changed and a new filter installed? if both these things are good you either have a bad Oil Pressure Sending unit or a bad Oil Pump. I would bet on the Sending Unit.

When i first start my car in the morning, my change oil light comes on, after awhile it will go out, what would be the problem

With the ignition key in the RUN position, but the engine off, fully push and release the accelerator pedal three times within five seconds. If the CHANGE OIL SOON light flashes two times, the system is reset. However, if the light comes on and stays on for five seconds, it did not reset. You'll need to reset the system again

2004 Ford Taurus, problem started last night. Drove to store, came home & parked. Tried to restart to park closer to curb and would not start. Engine did not turn over. Got low oil pressure message,...

Well your vehicle is indicating a problem, did you or your husband check the oil quantity? If it is low replenish the quantity. Also your battery seems to be failing, when you park it for a long time it will gain a little bit of power, thus when you come outside in the morning it would be better off then if you turned off the car and ran into the gas station to refuel and tried to take off. This shouldn't be a problem if your alternator is working properly and charging the vehicle while you drive. You may want to have your husband remove it and bench test it at a Checkers/Autozone or a local auto parts facility.

Check engine light comes on a few minutes after start moving, turn engine off and light goes away. Car feels better after being turned off and back on. Any suggestions??

I experience the same thing too although driving isn't hampered whether the light's on/off. It's a flip back version.

What I do notice is an oil leak in the gear box. And hard starting in the mornings. And after the engine's been on a while, it very nearly shuts off on restarting. And the air conditioning's non existent. And..

My Mecho says I'll have to take it to a high class show room to have the warning light checked with some kind of scanner but advises I have enough in the bank before visiting!!

Err.. not a solution is it..
