The radio code is only obtainable from an Audi dealer. They would have to e -mail Audi with the vehicle details and the radio serial no to get the radio code. They would then enter the code for you.
You will need the code to get it working. You may need Audi for this. Never disconnect the battery, or the alarm with trip on. Since it is frozen, I would try and remove the fuse, and reinstall it to reset the stereo. Then try the code.
I got lucky in my 2001 VW passat, when the stereo code was needed, but then the next day it started working by itself.
urn on radio - the word SAFE will appear in the display. Press th
P.SCAN and RBDS buttons simultaneously and hold them down until "1000"
lights up in the display.Release buttons.Do not, under no circumtances,
continue holding them down or press them once again. This will cause
the radio to consider the number 1000 to be the input code.Use station
buttons 1,2,3,and 4 to enter the code number on your Radio Card. Use
the button 1 to enter the first number 2 for the second number 3 for
the third number and 4 for the last number.Once you have entered the
code and it shows on the display, press the P.SCAN and RBDS buttons down
again simultaneously and hold them down until the word SAFE appears in
the display.Release buttons. Soon afterwards a frequency will be
displayed.
The code comes from the factory on a card - about the size of a credit card. You may find that it is still in with the service documentation or wallet somewhere.
If not you can obtain the code from an Audi Dealer for free. You need to remove the stereo and get the serial number from the back of it. Take this along with the cars VIN (Chassis) No. to your nearest dealer and they will run the numbers for you and get you the code.
You need both numbers as the radio is locked to the car within the Audi Network.
It is specifically stated on the original card that if you loose the code you will be provided with the number by Audi for free so don't let the dealer try to charge you for it as some will try this.
Hope this helps. Please do rate this answer. Many Thanks.
You should have been given the radio code for the vehicle when purchased, if not you will have to visit your local audi dealer for them to obtain the code from germany, check your audio handbook to see if the code is in there
You will have to call up an Audi dealership and give them the serial number and your information on the vehicle. There are steps in the manual on how to enter the 4 digit code. It will happen anytime there is a break in the power to the radio.
