Drive a ford ranger 2005 4l v6 bakkie it got a high idle problem when i drive its fine but as soon as i stop the rpm drops to normal and then just shoots up to around 2000 rpm and then gets stuck

One possibility is a buildup of dirt and sludge in and around the idle air control valve. The buildup causes the idle air valve to stick.

yes that is high try down to 5% which will change your shift pattern.

Have you tried cleaning the throttle plates and idle air control motor

check idle speed sensor on your intake manifold around 700 to 750 rpm is normal ,air temp may efect idle speed .

sounds like you have to adjust your idle, fuel injected or carburated?

check idle speed control make your throttle valves not stuck.check for vacuum leak around the throttle body area look for broke gasket.
