1991 Buick Park Ave. climate control stopped working. Replaced electronic (dual zone) climate control module, unhooked negative battery cable to reset module and climate control worked for appx. 3 weeks, now same thing again. After replace & reset performed, all functions worked properly. When not working properly, only ''ECON'' is available and compressor will not engage.

    Put control module into self diagnostic mode and came up with codes 38 & 152, no letters. What do these codes mean specifically?

Check to make sure that you have enought freon to engage the compressor, then you will need a flow chart to take you through the rest of the steps necessary to diagnos this problem. The Electrical system manual for Buick is the only one that will have the proper information for you to walk through the steps to dead head it. There is a HVAC programer that is behind the floor heater duck work. It has a numbering system that goes from (2) rows of pins that go 1-16 for terminals.On terminal 5-7 with ignition in run position, you need bat. votage. Terminal 10 & 11 you need 4-5 volts. Neither 10 or 11 should be unplugged just yet since 10 feeds 11 pin. If there isn't any voltage at these pins, check for corrosion on the pins theirself, or for the pin that it may have slipped back out of the connector. Good luck.

The starter relay is mounted on the starter. To replace you must remove the starter motor which is on the front side of the engine at the transmission bell housing. Make sure you disconnect the battery negative cable before you start work. Mark all starter wires and where they go on the different starter posts.

Hi,
After all said and done regarding the problem with your car AC,it can be deduced that the problem is from the expansion valve in the system,it's bad and needs a replacement,
However,before replacing the exp valve,carry out this solution;

try disconnecting the negative battery cable, then hook it back up and start the engine to see if the compressor will run momentarily. If it is indeed low on refrigerant, you can add some while the compressor is running.If the compressor doesn't work,then proceed with the replacement of the expansion valve.

Good luck!!

A./C. doesn't work even with a jumper wire on the low pressure sw

Howdy,
If your AC system is low on Freon, the system goes into a no run mode. If you disconnect your battery for a few minuets the computer resets itself. Then the Freon level can be checked by a friendly shop. Might find it low. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I changed my oil but i need too know how to reset change oil switch its a 1998 buick park ave.

Most cars if you unhook the negative battery cable for 5 or 10 minutes, the main computer will reset itself.
Of course you'll have to reset the clock, but hopefully that will work if that's the problem.
