do not mix up coil pack 4HV wires or wrecks firing order
THE PCM + PACK SETS FIRING ORDER.
WIRED WRONG THERE IS NO RUNNING, ENGINE.
I WILL POST A BETTER PACK FROM NGK
do not change HV wires unless 1 at a time.
if one HV wire fails 2 plugs go dead.
this tech is called wasted spark.
the misfire is real and plug 1 and 3 are dead
flashing CEL means CAT melts next with flood of raw fuel landing on the CAT input.
first learn the 3 rules of spark engines
good engine, 150psi or more, and cam belt not SLIPPED.
next is spark if spark is good fuel is last
cant burn fuel on dead engine or dead spark or timed backwards.
301means weak combustion#1ONLY THAT>
why is next. and that takes tools GOT TOOLS?
99% do not here and want 50 guesses.
if used a timing light (spark tool) and timing is wayoff
the belt was put in wrong
or coil pack wired wrong.,OMG not both, sigh./

worn out spark plugs can cause high resistance to coil packs and make them fail.try that first

You visually checked for spark and there was none? #3 and #4 show to be on same coil, each coil fires two plugs. Battery has a full charge? The red wire at coil pack is voltage, it has good voltage? Any applicable trouble codes?
The yellow wires with different tracer colors are grounds controlled by the pcm, one ground for each coil. Did you check voltage on ground wire engine cranking? I can't rule out a faulty coil driver in pcm. It's possible your old coil pack damaged the coil driver in pcm? If that is the problem, hope it didn't hurt the new coil pack.

If you're smelling unburnt gasoline, then it sounds like you're not getting fire to all cylinders. Not sure if your car has coil paks or distributor, but which ever it has, I would check to make sure all cylinders are firing. You can do this by starting the engine and pulling the wires off the coil paks/distributor one at a time. Listen and watch for any change or variation in the running of the motor. If it trys to die out then that plug is getting fire. If nothing changes in the way the motor runs, then it's a good possibility that that cylinder isn't firing. Hope this helps.

do you have a "service engine soon" light on?? heres the firing order from left to right>>>1-2-3-4 is the firing order. post more info for more assistance!!

if you have a no spark scenario i would check your crank sensor located at the top left side of the harmonic balance pulley.the crankshaft (about 11'oclock) a 2 wire plug with a sensor on it check to see if it is damaged or unsecured. this sensor can cause no spark if not working correctly. This sensor is based of frequency not voltage testing is difficult, just make sure that there isnt too muck air gap. and that it is secured.Lastly may want to check timing possible that the belt has jumped some teeth and she has fallen out of timing. maybe a bad tensioner The coil will adapt i think up to 10 degree, ****** or advance. silly thing to say have you changed the plugs ?? could be a few this may be head gasket or vavle problems or if it is a multi point injectcion it may be an injector.

have you ck=hecked the crankshaft posisition sensor.if its bad the coil pack wont fire.
