The most probable cause for the ETS (Electronic Traction Control System) light is the ABS light. When there is a problem in the ABS, ETS is disabled.

The ETS uses ABS data to help control the ETS system. You will need to have the ABS computer scanned for codes.

This light usually comes on if you have a failed wheel speed sensor but these vehicles are common for the ABS module to fail causing the same problem. You can back probe the wires comming out of each wheel speed sensor with the wheel lifted in the air and check for ac voltage as you spin the wheel.

What ever sensor does not put out voltage needs to be replaced if they all seeem to work it is likely the ABS module. But before you replace any parts you would want to have the ABS module checked for codes at one of your local shops that has a high end scan tool that can access those codes.

before you start the car put your foot on the brake pedal then turn the key to on if no srs abs lights up --its the brake light switch :)

depending on year and mileage it could be nothing. abs, ets lights been known to come on after 80k+ . there still could be a problem with your abs system though and should not be discounted. it is a hard problem to fix without getting it hooked up to a computer at a garage that has the right software

Chevrolet customer service said the ets light means enhanced traction control (ets) check the fuses. if you do not find a fuse blown you need to take it to the nearest chevy dealer so they can run a diognostic on it to find the code and replace any electrical parts that need replaced so this light will shut off.

Have your brake pads and rotors checked if you have worn pads this will activate the ABS Antilock Braking System light. The ETS Electronic Traction System uses this ABS to prevent skidding if the tires should lose traction.

Could be a wheel bearing they have a sensor that affects the abs and ets. If you plug it in to a computer it will tell you which wheel has the bad bearing and sensor
